Just chiming in with my two cents.
My daughter and I did the Dolphinaris swim on our cruise in Feb. The main reason I chose that over Chankanaab was for the enclosed pools. It is just the two of us and I was worried that I wouldnt be able to help her as much if the water was rough (which can happen at Chankanaab). She was five at the time.
We took a short (5-10 minute) taxi ride with two others from the pier to Dolphinaris facility. Got life jackets and waited to be assigned a group number. There were 8 people total in our group - 5 adults and 3 kids. We all got to touch, kiss and ride the dolphin. If I remember correctly, we were in the water for close to an hour.
There were people taking video and pics. I got a package at the end that was the video and i think 8 pics of us. It was about $130. I know it sounds expensive but how often do you get to take a picture with a dolphin
I would highly recommend this. It was the highlight of our cruise! I really enjoyed it and my daughter loved it. She still talks about how she "rode" the dolphin all by herself
There was also a nice snack bar there if you wanted food or drinks. Also another bar where you could sit and see the ocean and the pools where everyone was with the dolphins.
At the end, we just walked to the front gate and they called a taxi for us to take us back to the ship. Had to wait less than 5 minutes. You can go back whenever you want and the transport was included in the price of the tour.
If I can answer any other questions, just ask
