I am trying to decide which of the two resorts to seek reservations for the Swan or the Dolphin. Is there any advantages or pros in staying at one over the other? Thanks!

The Swan has queen size beds where the Dolphin has doubles. I've stayed at Dolphin twice and plan to again in June. I keep saying I'll try Swan, but we love the Dolphin too much to switch. The reasons we stick with the Dolpin are because Tubbi's (the only cafeteria) is at Dolphin, the Dolphin lobby is beautiful and mostly because the views from the Dolphin are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!

Some people enjoy the smaller, quieter Swan and I can understand that also. You can't go wrong with either resort, they are top-notch in all categories.

We stayed at the Swan in November, but not because we didn't think the Dolphin was lovely!(smile) The main reason we picked the Swan was because it is a smaller hotel, and with me in a wheelchair, size did make a difference. Also there were just the two of us, so with no kids, we didn't feel the need to be closer to the pool, game room, and Tubbi's. And the Swan is the first stop for the buses, which helps a bit, as we then we don't have to displace anyone from the seats that lift up to tie down the wheelchair.

Whichever one you choose will be fine! Just a matter of figuring out what your priorities are and then picking the hotel that fits your family best (smile).

I have stayed at the Dolphin, but this next trip we will be trying the Swan. The main reason is that the beds are suppose to be bigger at the Swan. We sleep on a king so I found the beds at the Dophin to small. I figure it is worth a try:D .

Keep in mind that while you are getting queen beds at the Swan you'll also get a slightly smaller room therefore resulting in less floor space.
I love them both as well and will stay at both again in the future.:)

I have reservations for Swan for Dec.
I didn't have any real reason to pick Swan or Dolphin, I just did..
now I wonder if I picked correctly..

Does the Swan have anywhere to eat at??? I keep hearing about Tubbi's at the Dolphin???

HELP!!

Do both properties have balconies?

Yes, both buildings have balconies and both have plas to eat, but, the Dolphin has the less expensive places, like Tubbis and the Dolphin Grill. Tubbis is the only 24 hr optionin the two buildings.
The restaraunts at the Swan are pricier and sit-down. There is a lounge in the back lobby that sells great pastires in the a.m., tho.
I have stayed at both multiple times and still prefer the Swan.
I can go to Tubbis, etc with just a short stroll, so, that doesn't enter into the decision making for me, but, it might for others.

We won't be bringing our kids with us in Dec. So being closer to the 24 hour eating place won't be that big of a deal for us.

Plus, we probably won't be eating at the resturants very much. being that close to Epcot I think I would like to try out more of the dinning over there..

Do they have the 'resort mugs"??

yes the Swan and DOlphin have a resort mug that can be purchased for approximately $10 and is free refillable

We just returned from the Dolphin on February 25th and we loved it!! We received a King Corner Room which was nice. We walked over to the Swam 2 or 3 times but I could barely stand it as it always REEKED like cigarette smoke. The entire lobby, & even Kimono's restaurant (which we ate at one night). We had our 22 month old with us so I really didn't like the cigarette smoke. I was surprised that each time we went in, it smelled that way again. Maybe it is because the lobby is so much bigger at the Dolphin that we didn't notice the stink?
It surprised me given there were so many babies and children around that so many people smoked (or maybe the ventilation system just doesn't work well).

That was the man thing we noticed about the Swan.

If children are involved, I would go with the Dolphin since it offers more for them. They have Tubbi's, a 50's style soda shop that has hamburgers, etc., game room, gym and the pool is a little closer. The rooms are also bigger. Swan has the queen beds, but I've read that they have to call the beds in the Dolphin double even though they are only an inch smaller.
