Hello all,

I am excited as my friends and I have just decided to go on the Dream in 2015!! But we had a question about the dolphin experiences at Nassau.

There are two different port adventures that have deep water swimming with dolphins.

The first is the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim this one is $209. The second is the Atlantis Cay Deep Water Swim and Discover Atlantis for $239.

Which would you recommend?

Some other things to consider:
Two of us want to swim (so I was wondering if there were other things to do at either location).

Thanks

We've done the Blue Lagoon excursion a few years ago and this time we're going to do the Atlantis one.

Blue Lagoon is a beautiful island, but there's nothing else on it, so once you're done, you can explore I guess or lay on the beach if permitted?

Atlantis has all of their properties to explore, shops, restaurants, casino, aquariums, etc. We've stayed there a few times and it's pretty neat to see, if you're looking for something else to occupy your time.

You can always head back to the ship after any excursion too :)

We did the Blue Lagoon shallow dolphin experience in 2008 and like DC1969 said, it's a nice island but when you are done you'll need to take the ferry back to Atlantic to really do anything else.

We are signed up to do the Atlantis deep water dolphin swim and aqua adventure next month when we sail on the Dream for 4 nights. I like the fact that when the dolphin encounter is over, we can walk to Atlantis and enjoy the facilities, water park and beach.

At $309 per person, I do hope we get some decent time to interact with the dolphins.

You don't have to leave as soon as you're done with the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim. You can stay to enjoy the island. There's an inflatable water play/park area which costs extra.

After your interaction explore the rest of what Blue Lagoon has to offer before taking the 30- minute return trip back to the ship. Note: Guests booked on the 9:30 a.m. departure will have the option of remaining at Blue Lagoon Beach after the Dolphin Encounter and taking one of the later ferry departures back to the pier.

Take in an informative introduction on dolphin behavior, don a wetsuit and immerse yourself in an approximate 30-minute dolphin program in a small group (maximum of 6 Guests per group).

Doesn't sound like a whole lot more time than what you get at BL, but the price also gets you access to their water park and a self guided tour of Atlantis and lunch. Note: the excursion the OP linked for Atlantis does NOT include water park access.

I don't know, I guess my opinion differs from these guys. I LOVE Blue Lagoon. Our family loved it so much, we are going back in a month. We turned down a double CC dip to go back to Nassau for BL. Admittedly, we do the sea lions (cheaper and SOOO much fun!) and loved it so much, we are repeating it AND bringing our honies with us. We enjoyed the island food, the hammocks, there was good music that day, we snorkeled some (sort of hard to get to but here is a reef there that is very natural) and the lagoon area is nice. We are going to pay the $15 and have a ball on the floating park because it looks like playing in an episode of WIPE OUT! We came at 10am and we didn't leave until 4pm last time. It was a great day. We watched others do their PUSH dolphin swims and it was the best looking dolphin swim I have seen. My friends didn't do any animal encounters at Atlantis but they aren't interested in going back, having been there. They are coming to Blue Lagoon with us.

So dolphin swim aside (because I haven't seen Atlantis', but BL's is a GREAT experience):
-We couldn't wait to come back to BL
-Our friends didn't care to go back to Atlantis.

That's the best comparison I can make.

Pretty amazing drinks and lunch there too. I just loved the Sea Lion encounter. I get my photos out and look at their beautiful faces whenever I'm stressed and it takes me back to my happy place!!! But really whether you do one or the other, you can still watch both! I <3 sea lions because they are like playing with puppies in the water and I got super attached to my Maggie. She just seemed to love everybody.

But I also enjoyed watching the dolphins too (just prefer the upclose encounter with sea lions).

It's also absolutely gorgeous out there. Even the ride out to the island is a plus.

But I certainly found BL to be fun - and relaxing with a great beach and lunch. Gave me the relaxation I needed, while still being amazing and exciting. Which I needed for the rest of the cruise :worship: *exhausted*

I don't suppose either's a bad choice!
