Has anyone just returned from the Dolphin?? We are going in late February and I was wondering about the status of the renovations.

I understand that the Swan has been completely done and that Dolphin was in the process.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but with the Search feature disabled it's a little hard to get the info.

Thanks for any help!

Allison

Great question! We will be there at the end of Feb also. :p Can hardly wait. I am thinking about requesting a renovated room.

We spent Thanksgiving and the first part of December at the Dolphin and had a wonderful time. We had a renovated room which was delightful. We had a water view with 2 balconys and the service was extraordinary.

There is a new restaurant in the hotel called "Fresh". A superb restaurant for breakfast and lunch!

In terms of renovation, they appear to be about 1/2 done with the Dolphin and the expected completion date is mid-August.
We requested a renovated room and were very pleased. The hallways were a little worse for ware, but it was always very clean.

We have stayed at several other on property hotels, and found the Dolphin's proximity to Epcot and MGM wonderful. The walk to both parks is good exercise. We will stay there again in December.

Tom,
Do you have to have PS or reservations at Fresh for breakfast? Can't wait to try it.

We did not. We ate there probably 4 times during the time we were there and enjoyed each time. Breakfasts are especially good with all "freshly" cooked food. Make sure to be adventurous and give the different things a try! There were some coupons available at the time as well.

We are members of the Starwood Preferred Club and the Dolphin has a special check in desk and also room upgrades when available.

It might be worth your time to join. No cost, no bother etc.

We're SPG members too and will be at the Dolphin this summer. WHere is this desk in relation to the main resgistration area?
Thanks.

is usually just one of the regular registration desks but with a "SPG Member" nameplate in front of it. There is rarely a person 100% dedicated to that desk but they will come over from a "normal" desk to cover it. It is really not much of a special deal. You do have to ask for an upgrade. They will do what they can but can't always provide an upgrade.

We love the Dolphin!! We had just as much "Disney feel" as a true Disney resort and we treated extremely well.

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a member of Starwood just joined due to all of the posts. Can you get a upgrade if you went thru Priceline. I was lucky to get the Dolphin at 70 dollars and wonder if I am pushing it to get a upgrade? Thanks

It certainly won't hurt to ask!!. We paid 139 as educators and thought it was a great value. Good for you on the Priceline quote!!

We also faxed down a request a few days before we arrived.
