Stayed at the Dolphin this past August and there's was construction. It was noted anyway. Nor when I had called with questions. I was disappointed with all the noise. It was not relaxing.

Is construction still going on at the Dolphin?

What about the Swan? If so, what kind?

Which would you prefer to book Dolphin or Swan?

What are Pro and Con of these two resorts?

Is it worth the extra money for the Swan?

I've stayed at both and don't really prefer one over the other. I usually just go with whichever one is available and whichever one is cheapest. They are still working in the pool area but I'm not sure if they are finished with the balconies. You might wander over to the Dolphin/Swan/Swan Reserve thread and ask there.

The Swan as is has 2 Queen beds vs 2 Doubles in the Dolphin. The Swan is half the size of the Dolphin so not as "full" feeling.

Note: That construction was the balcony railings being removed and replaced and it was quite loud during the day.

I prefer the Swan. The lobby is smaller and doesn't feel so confusing. Dolphin is just big and overwhelming, IMHO. I also love the room views - even the "no view" room has an incredible view of Hollywood Studios.

Swan Reserve is AMAZING! But if I had to choose between Swan or Dolphin I'd go with Swan...just check construction schedule. Isn't work being done on both?

We just left the Dolphin. The only construction we saw was work on one of the Dolphins atop the building. The fountain at the back entrance between Swan and Dolphin was drained and the dolphins need paint. We heard no construction noise. The only noise we heard was late night noise from the high school cheerleaders staying on our floor!

I prefer the Dolphin. There are more facilities there (shared by both hotel), I like the dining options at the Dolphin better, especially breakfast at Fresh and the quick service. I also find the lobby to be much nicer, but I guess that is a personal preference. I have had some absolutely wonderful views of the Epcot fireworks at the Dolphin, but have never been successful at getting anything near as nice at the Swan.

Three considerations 1) the beds are larger at the Swan (queens vs doubles). (2) the bus stops at the Swan first and the Dolphin second. (unless this has recently changed) Also, the Swan is marginally closer to the BW and Hollywood Studios, so, if you are walking, that saves a few steps. (3) The hallways at the Dolphin can be long and convoluted at the Dolphin, depending upon your room location.

I love both of these hotels and always check the prices vs staying at the BW or YC/BC.

Fresh, alas, is closed and they putting something new in the space. I always loved their breakfast as well.
Nooooo!!!! The food there was amazing!!! The breakfast buffet with those veg and juice smoothies was so wonderful! That is a huge loss, IMO.

Is the Fountain still there?
