We are planning to stay at the Dolphin or Swan in November 2007. I've been reading many posts, and my head is spinning. Which do you recommend staying in? We are SPG Gold owners, and don't like staying in standard rooms. We'll also be using our points for a free week. Also, which is the best area for a view? I'll be traveling with my DW41 and DS6. Any suggestions would be great. At this point, I'm so confused. Thanks! pirate:

The Dolphin has bigger rooms, the Swan has bigger beds. Not sure what you mean about not liking standard rooms....do you mean you want a balcony, or a suite?

We just came back from the Dolphin (2nd time we stayed there).

The Dolphin benefits over the Swan:
1) closer to the Grotto Pool
2) has the game room and laundry area
3) Picabu's snack/restaurant is open 24 hours and has the refillable mugs (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soda, lemonade)
4) Dolphin Fountain - great sandwhiches, burgers and ice cream

SPG member - tell the S/D reservationist you are Starwood members. You will get a free bump from the standard room. If you have AAA, or a teacher, or a government employee, or a nurse, or military - please also tell the S/D reservationist to see if a discount is available.

Bring DS report card - even if it from Kindergarten or 1st grade - If your DS has all A's, he can get a free A+ blue S/D baseball cap and a coupon for a free ice cream at the Dolphin Fountain. Just show the front desk the report card.
Our DD is in junior high school with a 96 average for 3 quarters. No grade in any class lower than a 90. The front desk was so impressed, our DD received a $20 credit for ice cream at the Dolphin Fountain. She also loves her A+ baseball cap.

Dolphin rooms:
- We requested a room in the West outside wing - over looks the pools with a view of Tower of Terror (MGM) and Mt. Everest (AK).
- If you want fire works every night - request a room in the East outside wing
and you will see the top of Illuminations (EPCOT) every night.

You can PM me if you have a specific question I can help you with.

DD18 and I returned from a stay at the Swan (31 Mar til 7 Apr). I thought the Swan was quieter and less "busy" than the Dolphin. Granted, we did spend ALOT of time at the Dolphin (restaurants, spa, gift store) but it was nice to take the very, very short walk (covered walkway) back to the Swan to the "quiet-ness" of "our" hotel. The Swan is also much smaller.

I don't think you can really make a "wrong" decision! I would happily stay at EITHER location. Both have the Heavenly Beds...............:cloud9:

Yes, I'm looking for a suite with a balcony. We are use to staying in two bedroom suites. I know it will be tough to stay in a standard room. pirate:

We stayed at the Swan in Feb and the Dolphin last weekend. I prefer the Swan..it was a much quieter resort...no conventioners there at all and the Dolphin was loaded with them.

My family has four people

Mom:36 Daddy:40 DD:11 DD: 14

We are staying at the Dolphin, what wing would you recommend?? We are pretty easy going, we want a view of something (NOT a roof) and we want something close to everything. What should we ask for??????
