Dolphin: How bad can a standard view be?

We've been very fortunate in the past with our standard view rooms at the Dolphin. We've usually had a view of the pool area or the Swan with HS in the background.

However, what if we get placed along that back corridor? What would that view be...I guess the bottom portion of the view would be the parking lot or the rooftop of the convention area...but what is the far away view of?:confused3

4th floor, loading dock. Good thing I am used to waking up early.

yo are right parlng lot view or a room top. we had the air cond view one time right in the corner so we looked into anothe room horrible,

We had a standard view, nurses rate, had view on front entrance, got to watch the valet men run back and forth to get the cars, could see Spaceship Mt,Mt.Everst in the background, husband got pretty good pictures with zoom on camera, was a good view considering the price.

My cousins got a view of a loading dock by day, but by night they were able to watch either Wishes or Illuminations (cannot remember which one) from their room. :)

On our first visit to the Dolphin the view from our room was a huge loading dock and dumpsters. Activity starts very early on the loading dock..be prepared for 5:00 a.m. wake up.

I think that is probably about the worst view available.

We had the awful view of the rooftop that stretched for miles last trip in May. We checked out and went to Universal for a day and they popped us right back in that same awful room when we checked back in (the view was not the only issue--the room was in bad shape, as well.) That was one of many reasons that we won't go back to the Dolphin. We'd been loyal guests for years and were treated really poorly on our last trip.

Oh, and I thought the one advantage of having that awful rooftop view was that at least we could keep the curtains open all the time since no one could possibly see into the room. One day, we were napping, and suddenly there was a huge bang on the window and a window washer was right there. Thank heavens no one was in the middle of changing clothes.
