Has anyone ever used this?

The Dreams Unlimited Rep said that as one of our party worked for the NHS and has a valid NHS employee card we were eligible for the Government Employee rate?

Makes the rate $300 cheaper?! Sounds a bit too good to be true to me?

Anyone ever used this discount?:)

I have not but our friend is a nurse and she gets very good discount at Swan & Dolphin. She has been twice now, both with great discounts.

I have used it, to book the swan for a couple of nights I work in education!

Sounds like a pretty good discount! Is it just an ID card you need?

I know with alot of Govt discoutns it is either photo id or pay slip clearly showing employers name. Best Western hotels also do a Govt discount which I have used :)

Claire ;)

Does anyone have a list of what jobs this would cover? DH works for local government (ie local authority council) would he be eligible?

I would be interested also. DW is a Nursery officer in Learning and Leisure for Leeds CC.
I always thought it was for NHS workers only.
Might have to do some googling.:goodvibes

That did not take much finding. Link at bottom to all qualifying discounts.
Government Discounts
Those eligible would be clients that work for the government, whether it is national, State or local government. This includes firemen, police, and any other branch of the government national, state or local. It also includes foreign governments as well. Clients must have a valid government id or will you will require a Letter on official stationary from the supervisor along with a recent pay stub. You must present the id at check-in to qualify for the discounted rate. Please note that proof of eligibility is required to receive any discount. Failure to produce such proof at check-in will result in hotel charging the full, regular rate for that room.

I've used the education discount for the Dolphin and I'm using it again for the Swan in July. The savings are fantastic and the hotels are great. All you need is a pay slip or works ID.

Excellent :thumbsup2

The rate im getting is $149 plus tax. One night was not available at this rate on our trip though.

Our total cost for 10 nights there in Sept is $1,732.50. With our Nationwide Credit card to pay it off it works out at a pretty good deal!
