Dolphin first, then Wilderness Lodge?

...or the other way around? They're both supposed to be deluxe hotels.:confused3

Here's our group: me, husband and our daughter, who will be 12 on our trip in early Feb. 2008. We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary then.

My husband and I love Epcot much more than the Magic Kingdom, so that's why we are thinking of the Dolphin. (Oh, the prices at the Yacht Club or the Beach Club!:scared1: ) We also prefer the MGM Studios more than the Magic Kingdom, but we really love the theming of the Wilderness Lodge, and it's price is not that much more than the Dolphin, and I'm sure we'll love it.

But which one should we start our trip at first?

Also, a second daughter, who is 22, has asked if she could come if she decides to at the last minute. I told her she would have to arrange her own flight, but that I think she could just come bunk with us in our room. Is that possible-that she could come down and be allowed to share our room, even if she comes a few days after we do?

Thanks! :laundy:

We stayed at both and the Swan too and I have to say if we were going for a long weekend we would stay at the Swan, we are huge Epcot fans. If we are going for 4 or more days we would stay at the WL...they are both super awesome hotels

For some reason we did not like the Dolphin as much, dont ask me why...the room was identical to the Swan but the hotel was much bigger and there was alot more convention people at the Dolphin than the Swan

Well, I think I'd like the smaller size of the Swan better, but the Dolphin seems closer to the grotto swimming pool. That's a big plus for our youngest daughter!

You'll need to pay an extra adult per room charge for the 22 y.o. daughter, but yes, the rooms sleep 4.

I think flip a coin on which resort first. I can see good and bad points to doing it either way! Or go with your gut, and do the Dolphin first.

Hi, We have gone to WDW the past 2 years in February(my DS was 12 and 13) we start with 4 nites at the WL (love this hotel at this time of year)and then move to the BCV for 6 nites. We do mostly the MK and DTD when we stay at the WL and then when we switch to the BCV we do mostly Epcot and MGM. This works for us! Joan

Thanks! I'm thinking of starting out at the Wilderness Lodge, then switching to the Dolphin. I'll probably change my mind 854 times by the time I make the reservations!

Well you can see I'm a huge Swan fan and we love staying at the Epcot resorts because we're Epcot fans as well.

Since you love Epcot then I would stay at the Dolphin last so you can spend the end of your vacation just being able to walk over to Epcot at any time. We do all the parks but we are AP holders so there is never one day that we don't go to Epcot, either just to walk around or to grab something to eat because it's so easy to walk there. We rarely take the boat since it's faster I think to walk, unless it's raining or extremely hot. It's a nice walk and we actually beat the boat.

Good luck in your decision and enjoy!
