Dolphin excursion cancelled

I just recieved an email cancelling my swim with the dolphin excursion next week in Nassau. I booked with an online company and unfortunately the dolphins are sick and will be down for a few weeks. Does anyone know if there are more then one company running the dolphin excursion in Nasssau? If not what else would an 11 and 13 year old daughters like to do. Need recommendations on good excursions. Sail on Apr 8. Thanks

Hi! Can you tell me which company you booked with? I booked directly with Dolphin Encounters and confirmed by ressie yesterday. All this talk of this being cancelled is making me a bit wary...

I spoke with with a representitive from Shore Trips.com, which is an excusion booking agency. I was planning on booking the dolphin excursion with Disney for a June cruise. I then heard that Disney was no longer offering this. I booked on line with ShoreTrips.com. According to him DOLPHIN ENCOUNTERS is the only company that offers the swim with or the encounters with the dolphins. Dolphin encounters belongs to an animal protection agency who inspects their facility periodically. If they find anything that they disapprove of they require Dolphin Encounters to Fix the problem. That is what happened. This rep said that the problem should be "fixed" any day now and that reservations would start being accepted again. That's the story that I got....

That is the company I also booked through, shoretrips.com. I recieved the email last night that it was cancelled and the dolphins are sick and will be down a couple of weeks. So if they are the only company the does this I am out of luck. Thanks for the reply

You might want to try www.dolphinencounters.com...I booked directly with them and they have not cancelled my ressie for Apr 26

I scheduled mine through Dolphinencounters.com for April 19 and they have not cancelled mine either.

I booked directly with Dolphin Encounters. When the news broke last Friday the Disney run excursion had been canceled for 4/5, I called Dolphin Encounters. They said I was in the system for 1:30 on 4/5 and everything was good.

Well --- yesterday afternoon, I get home and there is a message saying that my excursion had been canceled and please call to reschedule.

Called this morning and obviously they can't reschedule me so they will be refunding my credit card.

I'm a little disappointed, but in a way, relieved. Wasn't looking forward to finding my own transportation to the pier with DD and with a 1:30 reservation, I was a little concerned about rushing back to the ship for a 6pm dinner. I figured with my luck, that would be the Animator's Palate night for us.

yep I spoke to them this afternoon after shoretrips informed me that it was cancelled due to a sick dolphin. From my conversation with them they were annoyed with shore trips because they wanted it kept quiet. They told me they were relocating and they over booked and thats why the excursion was cancelled not a sick dolphin. What a mess.
