Dolphin Encounter at 1:30 pm - is that too late?

I just booked the dophin encounter on my own & they came back with a reservation time of 1:30 pm. I read somewhere on these boards it's 3-1/2 hours. I was wondering if that's too late especially since I've been hearing the ship has been leaving around 5:00 pm.

Any info would be appreciated!

Also, directions from ship to the encounter would be great?

When we did the Dolphin Encounter last June 2004 we also had the 1:30 time. We liked it because we were able to enjoy the uncrowded ship and eat lunch on the ship. We were a little "pushed" for time getting back to the ship. Then the ship did not leave so early...but we had the early dinner seating and we had to shower and ger dressed. It turned out OK. We were only a little late.


These are things that I learned that might be useful to you:
*walk to the end of the dock and take a taxi or bus to the Blue Lagoon Ferry terminal. You can also take a water taxi the the Ferry terminal but you have to wait until one is full before it will leave. Depending on the flow of people this can take a while.
*The ticket booth for the Dolphin Encounter is at the ferry terminal. Check in there and get a ticket to ride the next ferry to Blue lagoon. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the Blue lagoon.
*To return take a returning ferry back to the terminal. Then a taxi/bus back to the dock.
* This is where we "lucked out" A ferry terminal worker told us that there was a ferry that went from the terminal straight back to the dock beside the Disney Wonder. He told us to get on that ferry once we retuned back to the terminal instead of taking a taxi/bus. He said it was for Disney Cruisers only. I assume that this is how the group of Disney cruisers, that books through Disney, gets to and from the FerryTerminal. We were able to get right on and get back to the ship MUCH faster and CHEAPER. It is woth asking about!!
