We will be staying in a deluxe room with a balcony (non-smoking) in early May (50 days and counting). What kind of location/view can we expect? Thanks for all the great info you have provided, and sorry if you already answered this question for someone else!

From Glo's FAQ

Lake View rooms are mostly between the "fingers" of the building, with view of Crescent lake area, but a limited view due to the building. The Resort view rooms are more of a "wide open" view, with the possibility of view of the white sandy beach area, pools, or even Epcot. Standard rooms we describe as "non designated view", and most are on the wooded side or parking lot areas. The Swan "standard views" tend to have a bit better view (MGM ,TOT)than the Dolphin due to location. Front of either hotel is "Standard" views. Hope this helps people a little more!

Balcony rooms tend to be on the fingers or wings of each resort and in rooms facing the other resort. Balconies have two chairs and a small table. Balcony rooms 3rd floor and below tend to have balcony rooms right next to each other. Rooms over the 3rd floor alternate room with a balcony and room w/o.

Should we request a specific area upon check-in, such as upper levels, East Wing? I think I read that somewhere...are those rooms considered deluxe/balcony? Or would any deluxe/balcony room have a good view/location? Thanks again!

Not all deluxe balcony rooms have a good view.
To increase your chances of getting the view you desire, I suggest you call and ask to have your preferences noted on your ressie. Then, again at check-in, I would mention them again.

Upper level floors on the East wing afford a good view of Epcot and, from some rooms, the boardwalk. If that's the view you want, that's what you need to ask for.

I personally just ask for "Epcot view" so they know exactly what I'm hoping for!

Hi all,
