Dolphin and WL

Hello all! I will be checking into the Dolphin for one night next Friday and then transferring to the WL for the following 3 nights. I am so excited to try out the Dolphin but I am not picky about what the room is like as we are only staying there for one night (I did request a renovated king bedroom). We are celebrating my boyfriend's birthday by splurging on Deluxes and I was hoping we would get an upgraded view at the WL if we check in early. How early is early?? If we check-in around 10 or so, what are our chances of getting an upgraded room? I know it depends A LOT on what the cm is like, but I have had good luck on room locations for most of my stays in the past without asking. Please share your experiences at both hotels!!! Also, we are probably going to do things outside of the parks but we were thinking about maybe trying to go to Blizzard Beach. Are we crazy?!! Will it be too crowded??!

Can't help with your resort questions, but for Blizzard Beach, the best thing to do is to be at the gate before they open, either by taking the bus or driving yourself. Toss your stuff on a chair and do the slides you want to do right away. We were there last Aug. and the lines got too long for my teenager by about 11am. We left and went back to our resort to swim and eat lunch. Oftentimes the park will fill to capacity by lunch, too.

at the Mercantile at WL. My daughter is doint the CP program and works in the Mercantile in the evenings! You'll love the WL - good luck with getting a great view.

I've never stayed at WL but my family LOVED the Dolphin. DD keeps asking when we can go back. The staff was so helpful and friendly and you can't beat the location. (Shh...DD thinks the boats to Epcot and MGM are another ride!)
