I have been lurking on these boards for the last 6 months but this is my first post! Thank you for all of the great info! I have been trying to decide between the Swan's queen size beds & the Dolphin's larger rooms. I have read that the Dolphin's double beds are larger than usual since they are only 6" smaller than a queen.
Is this true? :earsgirl:

Welcome!!!!

I don't know about the bed size but I do know the Swan has what they call *heavenly beds*. A friend just came back and she said they were definitely heavenly, even better then her bed at home-lol.

I'm sure someone else can answer your question!

the beds are billed as "oversized doubles," while the Swan has two Queens per room

We stayed at the Dolphin 3/15-3/25 in a balcony room - beg for room 8029 people...i can't imagine a nicer view - the Epcot ball every night and fireworks at 9 - anyway we had the 2 double beds and they were ok....not heavenly beds - but I'd rather stay at the Dolphin than the Swan anyway. The Dolphin is just more "grand" - I was quite anxious hearing about the "ugly" "garish" surroundings at the hotel - and they are a little out of the ordinary, but the room was just fine and the view and the balcony - well, my husband and I felt relaxed by the end of the 2nd day - which is unheard of for us....we had gold starwood status thanks to this dis board and Starwood Am Express which we had a little trouble getting a customer service person at Am Express to give us - but we had the best room - probably because I just asked - my dh and I had not been getting along and I just wanted things to be perfect and HOLY CRApola - we had an amazing view and saved lots of money and tips eating breakfast with our club privs and munching snacks for dinner at club level - so only one real meal out -

I love the slide at the Dolphin - made me giggle and I am a kind of *****y uptight broad - but I loved it. I loved the hammocks on the beach - and was thoroughly satisfied with the transportation - loved the boat to Epcot - and even the busses were rolling around at all the right times. I think God was being kind - or maybe the Dolphin really does have things on the ball.

I get such a kick out of your posts Ashley's Mom. Keep it up!
Holy Crapola!! He he he

Thank you, Ashley's mom! What did you not like about the Swan? Did you eat at any of the restaurants at the Dolphin? Thanks for the help.
