Dollywood Questions re Small Children/Please help

We are going to Dollywood and have two little ones (age 6 and age 1). I called to see if they allow backpacks. At first I was told no, so then I asked how about diaper type bags and she said they would be checked for food and beverage. She then said any type of bag would be checked. So I said, "then backpacks are allowed but will be checked?" and she said "yes". So I now have two different answers about backpacks.

Anyway, they seem very strict about bringing in food and beverages. What about snacks for the little ones? I doubt very seriously that they sell cheerios and toddler crackers in Dollywood. I would hope they sell juice boxes and/or milk though. Anybody have problems bringing in snacks for young children?

We went to Dollywood last summer when my twins were 2 and older DD was 5. I carried a backpack with sippys, goldfish, etc. and there was no problem at all. I can't even remember if they checked the bag. They probably did, but there was no problem with it.

FYI - also bring a swimsuit and change of clothes. There are lots of fun fountain-type things for the kids to play in!

We have season passes and have already been several times this year. We always bring snacks and drinks, they do not check bags at all. Very laid back. Bring all you want, it will be fine.

Just got back from DollyWood and Splash Country.

We didn't take any kind of large sized bag into DollyWood. But, we went into Splash Country with two large beach bags overflowing with stuff. (including some drinks) Nobody even glanced.

I am assuming that you will be taking a stroller. I would throw in a small baby-bag, and stuff some juice boxes and snacks down in the bottom under everything else. I really don't think that it will be a huge deal. Sometimes what is supposed to be 'policy' and the reality are two different things.

My DH also will usually break out the cargo shorts for times like this. You would be amazed at how much you can stash in those pockets!

When are you going, Sandra? We will be heading to Pigeon Forge with our 7 yo, 5 yo and 9 mo on 7/27.

Thank you all so much!!! The woman on the phone said something about checking for food and drinks 3 times so I figured there was no way I would be able to bring in anything for the kids. Which would not be good.

I know brought it snack with when i went to Dollywood. Think is be like WDW where can bring in glass and beer.
