I always read about people getting Disney trip essentials at Dollar stores and thought I'd remember them, but (of course) I don't now that I'm making my Dollar store shopping list. What are the things you always pick up for your trip at the dollar store? TIA!

this is some stuff i got

rain panchoes
gum (5 pak)
glow bracelets
travel tissue paks
gloves & ear head bands (since we went in dec & the nights get cold)
backpack(at that time they had some backpacks available
bandaids
ointment & hydocortizone cream
ziplock bags(gallon & guart)
cool pen (for autograph books)

let me think what else,,,but this is a start;)

Here are some more:

* pop up hamper
* over the door organizers

For the plane or Tink gifts:

* activity/coloring books
* pencils/crayons
* disney character card games
* small Disney character toys
* character pez dispensers

Those are all great suggestions. I was soooo sure I would remember all the cool things I'd heard to get there. Yeah, right. I barely remember what I did yesterday. Thanks for the reminders - especially the pop-up hamper. That'll be a huge help!

all good suggestions so far
I'd like to add, from my packing list last summer...
*sunglasses and umbrellas - if they break or get lost, you're only out $1
*playing cards, puzzle books and/or small toys for entertainment on the trip/during down time away from the parks or by the pool
*caribiner clips (4pk) for clipping hats or travel mugs to belt loops or bags on rides
*all sizes of plastic zippered bags (snack, sandwich, quart and gallon). I use them for almost everything I pack
*glow bracelets/necklaces
*autograph book and/or photo album (if you can find ones you like)
*pen/sharpie - sometimes they have fatter pens suitable for the characters to sign autographs
*mini notebook if you like to keep notes during your trip
*toothbrushes (2-5pk) and dental floss - take along new and throw away before you go home
*clothes pins
*extension cord (make sure it has a UL tag, there were some that were recalled a while back because they were not UL listed)
*travel first aid kit (prepackaged with bandaids, etc)
*magic towels (great to carry in a ziploc bag with ice/water on hot days)
*window clings to decorate you room's window will help you find your room along the corridors of look-alike doors

It all depends on what's available when you shop. I haven't seen pop-up hampers in at least 6-9 months and could really use new ones (without spending $3-$7 elsewhere).

I am curious why you would need an extension cord for DW.

I imagine so you don't have your phone all the way across the room charging? :confused3

It might depend on how many devices you have to re-charge - cell phones, cameras, batteries, video games, DVD players, or whether the power cords are long enough to reach the tabletop. I didn't actually find a need for it, but others may.

I'm actually planning to pack a power strip since there will be three adults, all with cell phones to recharge, plus the digital camera and the video camera. If we plug it all in to one power strip, we're much less likely to leave without a charger or two.

GREAT suggestion on the caribiner clips. That will help a ton!!

I take an extension cord to plug in window lights for my window decorations.I also bought a lime green sewing kit to take along.If you stay in a value a shower curtain for some privacy ( you'd still need a tension rod) I can't find the clings at our Dollar Tree ,where in the store have people found them!!??

This is funny because I just finished my Dollar Tree shopping last night!

small portable fans for kids
straps for glasses/sunglasses
batteries
disposable gloves
hand sanitizer on caribiner clips (they were HS Musical)
4 pack caribiner clips
ziplock baggies
glow sticks
clorox wipes
first aid kit
waterproof bandaids
small package of tums
sunscreen
lip balm with spf 15
rain ponchos
lemonade and hawaiian punch packets (to add to water bottles)
beef jerky
sunglasses
umbrella

If I think of anything else, I'll post it later! pirate:
