We are renting through them for the first time.

They had the best deal for a minivan in CA for 10 days by more than 400.00.

I am wondering anything I should know or are they pretty easy? We usually do Alamo or National with no problem. I will be using a credit/debit card.

I would love to hear from anyone who has used them before good & bad.

Thanks in advance.

We have had great luck with Dollar! No problems with coupons and their lines were VERY short! We wanted to stick with them on our past two trips, but Alamo had better rates. Granted we saved money, but Alamo's lines were HUGE both times. I would book with Dollar again in a heartbeat!

I used them in Orlando. No problems at all! I rebooked using them for a trip to CA. I got the best deal through them.

Another happy Dollar customer here. I use them exclusively when I'm in Orlando. They have a program called Fastlane that you can sign up for on their website. It makes picking up your car much quicker plus there is a separate line for Fastlane users in case their regular line is long. The first available agent will take you over every one else in the regular line. The enrollment kit came with a free one car class upgrade coupon too.

I just rented from them, LA to LAs Vegas this past month. Everything was great except for the Fastlane line!! I ended up being the first person in from the shuttle and the last person waited on. I got in the fastlane line and the group ahead of me took a VERY long time, in fact they were there when I entered the building and still there when I left. I eventually left the fastpass line and went to the other line. So wasn't very happy about that, but every thing else went great. I had just signed up for Fastlane, so I had received a coupon for a few upgrade. My reservation was for a mid-size and they upgraded us to a minivan! So we were very happy about that!

I always use either Dollar or National, booking with the lowest rates. Very satisfied with both companies. We are Fastlane members and have always had superb service.

First of all, I'd recommend highly. But here are the details for you to judge for yourself:

I used Dollar last October for a week-long vacation in California. We were heading from LA up to Yosemite on the first leg and I had reserved a Jeep Cherokee Laredo online at a great price.

The line when we arrived from LAX on a Saturday afternoon was ungodly long and slow. We weren't in a hurry and it wasn't a problem. Looked as if Fastlane customers were getting helped a little bit faster...but not by much.

Counter attendent was extremely friendly, but she seemed determined to scare me into buying insurance and other extras, which I had to decline on about three seperate go-rounds. I wouldn't call it pushy, but it was close. And of course, when it finally came time to hand over the keys, they did not have a Jeep on the lot.

But here's where it got better, though I wasn't convinced of it at the time. Instead of the Jeep, they offered me a Chrysler Pacifica, which turned out to be a very nice ride. The car was virtually brand new -- a couple thousand miles on it at most -- and gave us plenty of power throughout the Sierra and was quite roomy and comfortable, too. In Yosemite, I took it on a morning drive across Tioga Road, about 150 miles roundtrip across beautiful mountain roads that top out at about 11,000 feet or so and it handled like a dream. I even got stopped at one point by a park ranger for going a little too fast -- luckily, he let me off with a warning.

Anyway, after about 1400 miles that included the trip west from Yosemite to San Francisco and then down the Pacific Coast Highway, we turned the Pacifica in at about midnight with absolutely no problems, once I found the Dollar location. The return took all of about five minutes, and again, the Dollar personnel were all great to deal with.

So my experience was top-notch. I hope yours will be likewise.

We've rented with Dollar the last two times down to Orlando, and I plan to use them again (so long as they're fairly comparable to other agencies). Very good service, and their vehicles tend to be fairly new. Our last two vans have had less than 15K miles on them.

Very easy to pick up and drop off as well.
