Dollar rates for October

Having trouble finding a car out of Tampa for the week of Oct 21-28 that is in the $200 or under range. Would like at least an intermediate. Should I wait until the date gets closer?

What is everyone paying in Oct? I would go with another company if I can find a cheap rate. What codes are you using? I don't belong to AAA.

My advice is to book a car now. That locks in the rate unless it goes down. So you can book now, get a rate, and check back as often as you like to see if it goes down. If and when it does, you cancel and rebook your reservation for no fee. If it goes up, you have locked in your rate and you will not have to pay the higher rate.

We are going Oct. 20-28th and using Budget. Standard sized car. Used Costco car (check their web site). I went to Costco and found and additional $20 off coupon. Makes our car $191 and some change. Check it out if you are a Costco member.

This is most defintly the best way to do it!! Locks you in, so the only place your going is down!!

If you use the AA Budget link you can get an intermediate for $192.
