Dollar fast lane rental

I am thinking about signing up for dollar's fastlane. The website states that you can get a free upgrade with a coupon that will come in your membership packet. Can this coupon be used with a reservation that is placed with a code?

Yes, assuming the upgrade is available.

Always book the car size you need. Then the upgrade is an extra treat. If you book a smaller car then you need assuming you will get an upgrade you could be very disappointed when you wind up with a car you won't fit in (not to mention it could wind up costing you more money!)

We already have an intermediate and it is big enough, but if we can get an upgrade that would be great.

They sent us 2 of the coupons in the mail with our membership card (and after I used those we signed my DH up for membership also and got 2 more)...both times we reserved a compact and wound up with SUV's (new Dodge Durangos that would seat 8 both times)

The first time it was just the 4 of us so, while nice the extra space wasn't essential. The second visit we had my in laws there part of the time and some friends the other part of the visit so it was nice to be able to pile everyone in 1 vehicle when we went to dinner etc.

The best part is by passing the huge line that I always seem to find at the rental counter.

Was the dodge durange a full size SUV? I see Jeep Cherokee's or similar listed on their site, I was wondering if the cherokee and durango are similar?

One more question concerning Dollar. At this point, We will be picking up the car at the Holiday Inn in DOwntown disney on the 15th, was originally going to book for the entire 15 days but we decided we dont need a car while at Disney, it would be a waste of money because the car would just sit. We will be getting a 1 day rental from the airport to Holdiay Inn on the 8/8-9th that way we can stop at walmart and pick up some water and snacks and to get from the airport to POR. We are going with my parents and my sister and her husband and they will have the a car if we do need to get something else offsite. Anyways, how is the selection at the Holiday Inn. I've dropped off a car there before but never picked up. We have an Intermediate reserved, I was just wondering if anyone has ever had an intermediate reserved and find out when you go pick it up that they do not have one, or are they required to have it there since we have reservations for one. . TYIA

Leanne11... no you can only use 1 coupon at a time...although the coupon states it is for a 1 category upgrade they will bump you up more than that often (we went from a compact to an SUV and our friends we were travelling with one trip went from a compact to a minivan.

Sweetheart2576... the Durango was massive. I had to get a running start and jump to get in it. It had seating for 8 with a good bit of luggage space even with all the seats up. I have stayed in hotel rooms that were smaller than those things!! So I assume they are full size SUV's. It was quite a bit bigger than a Cherokee, but they might be in the same class...we always pick up at the airport so I can't help you on the HI pickup info, sorry.

We just used Dollar from Sanford, booked a compact car with a code from Mousesavers. We were upgraded with the Fast Lane coupon to a brand new PT Cruiser Convertable (so what it was purple, DH looked cute driving it) We were very pleased with their service.
