As we go soon I have been looking at current rates and Debenhams is offering 1.254 today, which I didn't think was too bad (considering........).

Have you tried Best Foriegn Currency Exchange or No 1 Currency? If you have branches near you they often have the best rates if you order online first.

Yes we do. I checked the money saving expert comparison table and that was the best rate yesterday. I took the plunge and got some so no doubt it will go up now!

Here now and some things seem a lot more expensive. However, we are having a great time and the weather has been fantastic.

Have a great time. We got for the first time in 2 years in July. Between inflation and the exchange rate I think we'll be more than a little surprised!

Mrs Doubtfire, can you give a feel on what seemed more expensive? Did anything stand out?

Hi, I think it was mainly food prices (as that is where a lot of our money goes), we were on the gulf coast the first week and a lot of the entrees were $30+ in the local restaurants. Our first shop at Publix was $150 for breakfast goods, fruit (apples were £1 each) and washing powder etc.

When we went to Millers in Kissimmee which we considered a reasonable priced place, it cost about £80 for 2 starters, 3 main meals and 3 soft drinks. I think we were just feeling the pinch! Other people might think this is reasonable?

Other meals at WDW were obvious a lot more expensive.

Thanks for the info.

My partner and I are foodies so tend to eat at the more expensive places anyway (V&As, Jiko, etc), but it's worth keeping an eye on when we're out later this month...
