Dollar Code question - anyone know for sure?

On another thread I read about a code on Dollar thats giving cheap rentals for the Dec 15 and after time slot. The code is OL5040. When you type it in, you get a message saying you will need to show the "Associate id" when picking up your car.

I did a search for this code and it popped up a link to GreaterOrlandodiscounts.com...but it did not say what "associate id" would need to be shown.

I'd love to reserve a car with this discount, but not if I need an id I dont have. Does anyone know about this? Mary from Mousesavers...do you know?

Thanks!
Sally

I had heard that you weren't being required to show an ID, that the message was simply a message that they throw out there all of the time.

I cannot absolutely confirm this however.

Why don't you book it and then call Dollar and see what they say at their customer service desk. Tell them about the travel website and see...

Just got off the phone with Dollar. The code is for employees of the "Rocker Fruit Company." HA! The person who checked for me said thats why the "associate id" comment is popping up. You have to have an id from the fruit co to qualify.

I happen to have a reservation using this same code, so I called Dolar. Well, I gave her my reservation # and was put on hold while she looked into it. She came back w/the same company info "Rocker Fruit Co" and I asked her if I need some id or if I could use this code and would it matter? Her answer ... no mame you don't need to have any id to use this code. I replied ... so I don't need any id to be able to use this code? She replied, yes mame you won't have any problem using this code.

Maybe call and get a name on your reservation w/the time and date of the person whom you talked to that said it was okay to use this code regardless? Hard to say, but does make one feel a bit uneasy. I am going to call again and see what answer I get & then get the persons name and etc.

I found a decent dollar rate through www.floridakiss.com where you check out their rental car section and somehow link to national from there. Again, it said association rate, but I called and they said "explain it when you arrive" - you could try that a 2nd phone call from you wouldn't hurt...

Hi - Not sure what rate you got, but you may just be able to rebook it with another code. I just received their newsletter today saying that their rates for a minivan are $199 a week. So maybe if you try booking without a code or check out Mousesavers codes, you may find that you get the same rate without having to worry about an "associate id".

Good luck!
