Dollar car rental??

Anyone care to share their experiences with renting from Dollar? We have always used National, however, with the prices being so high and needing a minivan this year, we are choosing Dollar. I have the Dollar Express so I am not sure how that all works sine we used to do the Emerald Aisle. Can any one share on the ease of rental or van type/brand?

Great experience hiring a car from Dollar in February 2008. Reserved a convertible and was pleasantly surprised to have a choice of models (I took a blue 2007 Mustang). Joined their rewards program (Dollar Express) before arriving in Orlando. There is a separate line for Express customers and the representative skipped the up-sell for insurance and toll transponders. Within minutes I was on my way to the garage (on-site) to meet another representative who hands over the keys. Return was a breeze. Drive to the airport, drop off the keys and catch your flight.

Glad to hear this. We usually book Hertz because it's cheapest (via AAA), but Dollar was more than 50% less than the competitors for our late September trip so I booked our SUV through them.

I have rented from Dollar the last three years and have been completely satisfied. Dollar Express allows you to bypass regular line. They get you in your car fast and the vehicles are great. I rented a minivan last year and they gave us a brand new Town & Country with the flip down television and rear air. It was the nicest minivan I ever seen. Dollar always has the best price of the big competitors!

If you want to save some dough by avoiding airport fees, you can pick up your Dollar rental at the Sunspree resort near DTD. They have a shuttle that will pick you up or you can take Disney buses and walk over.
