Dollar car rental through Spirit skip the counter

We booked our rental car through Dollar via our Spirit flights since it was so much cheaper than everywhere else. I was hoping to be able to skip the counter but Dollar won't recognize the reservation number (Spirit called it a Dollar Car Confirmation Number). Anyone have experience with this?

You booked through a third party, no chance you can skip the counter. Recent reports have been that everyone at Dollar at MCO has to go to the counter anyway.

We book through Costco every other time and always skip the counter. Costco is a third party

Costco acts as a travel agent not a third party. In your situation with Spirit, Spirit has pre paid the reservation, that is a third party booking. When you book through Costco, you are paying the charges when you get there.
