Dollar Car Insurances

Hi

I have reserved a SUV for our trip this August from Dollar's website, dollar.com

The rate I was given excluded insurance/waivers etc.

I have e-mailed and called Dollar but they say they cannot quote a total price with insurance. Can anybody let me know roughly how much it will be when I arrive at the desk in Orlando Airport?

I was quoted $739.56 for an SUV for 2 weeks, mid-August including taxes/vehicle license fee and recover fee.

Are you sure you need the insurance? It's VERY expensive. Check your own auto insurance company. Also, many gold and platinum credit cards also provide rental car insurance coverage if you charge the rental to their card. We rent cars all the time and have always been covered by our American Express card.

Thanks for your reply! Because I live in England, I think I will need the required insurance....anybody know for sure? I could check my AMEX, Visa and MasterCard along with my current insurance company, but I don't think it will cover it in the US, will it?!

I´ll be in WDW in a couple of weeks, and I reserved a full size from Budget, and my Platinum Mastercard credit cad (issued in Brazil) grants me free CDW up to 75K. I´ve already called Mastercard Global Services, and confirmed all the information (it´s valid for car rentals almost everywhere in the world)! So you my check with your credit card companies which ones offers this perk.

BTW, you may also check car rental from Alamo.co.uk their quotes are all inclusive

Here's a sample of the total cost of renting using Alamo. I used the Walmart Association ID #430710
that is available to everyone and gives a supposed 20% discount. I also used Rate Code : BY . I used
dates 10 Aug - 24 Aug.

The total NOT including additional insurance is $568.01 (GBP £302.01)

Anyway, this should give you an idea of what to expect when you arrive.
