We arranged our forthcoming trip nearly 12 months ago and booked a platinum package with Dollar.
Last weekend, rather naively in hindsight, I checked the current price for the same package - anticipating it would have increased by 10% or so.
Shock, horror it's gone down £30 !
Now I know when your spending thousands on a great holiday it's small fry - but it would still buy one of those meals many of you have been recommending on the 192.
I spoke to Dollar who said they wouldn't refund the difference (OK that's fair) but also wouldn't upgrade us (possibly fair). The only solution would be to cancel (no cost) and rebook (lot's of extra paperwork for them!).
I'm not sure I can be bothered (doubtless they'd take the money immediately and not refund the other for weeks - cynic that I am!!). I guess we've just been unlucky - due to the exchange rate, perhaps low bookings etc. After all foreign exchange markets don't start asking for the difference back when the pound/dollar rate goes in our favour !!!!
Has anyone else had experience of these circumstances?
