What is all this hullabaloo about Dole Whips? I have never seen them at the parks (granted I haven't gone in about 5 years, but still!)...Anyone care to enlighten me?
They are sold at the Dole booth outside of the Tiki room. They are soft serve pineapple, sort of like sorbet. Or you can get them as a float, which is the soft serve in a glass of pineapple juice. They are ok. My dd8 really loves them, I can take them or leave them.
I had them once on our first trip. It was very sweet. But I think I would have liked it better if it was summer. We went in feb and it was cold. But still good times
I had one last month for the first time at WDW, my brother kept talking them up so I used a snack credit for it and it was good but i would have rather had a popcorn or frozen ice cream bar instead. And yes it was rather sweet and I had the float which got all over my tank top lol.
I had one the last time we were at DL. My nephew and I shared one while a whole bunch of our party went on Indy for the umpteenth time. We each had a spoon and I got a glimpse into a 6 year old's mind. It was great! He wasn't sure if he'd like it but by the time he finished telling me about his "girlfriend" the whip was all gone.
Kind of a cross between ice cream and sorbet. Definately creamier and richer that sorbet, but not near as indulgent as real ice cream. It is most enjoyed on a warm or hot day and I think links to the Southern CA lifestyle. It reminds me of home We love them
Sometimes the Dole Whip Floats come with an umbrella and cherries!
Yaarrr! The Dole Whip is a yummy treat .. aye but for the full experience .. you must be enjoying your Dole Whip or Dole Float .. while eating it inside .. Walt Disney's semi-Original Enchanted Tiki Room!!
