What is a Dole Whip? Is it just another name for soft serve ice cream?

Aloha Isle in the MK is one palce to find a Dole Whip. It is near the jungle cruise, but on the opposite side.

They have the Dole Whip at Captain Cook's but I don't believe you can get the float.

Ahola Isle is where I had my "magical" moment this past summer. We stopped to get a Dole Whip.....my daughter didn't want the pineapple so we ordered the other flavor. I said to the CM working behind the counter how I was so looking forward to trying this....and she gave me a free cup of just the pineapple so that I could experience the whole thing!!! She made my trip...that's Disney for ya

My favorite is the pineapple vanilla swirl. But once you have any variety of dole whip, you will always crave it. It is better than any soft serve ice cream or frozen yogurt you have ever tried.

I don't know if there is a plain vanilla flavor or not, as I ordered a pineapple dole whip, but yeah is was just pineapple flavored soft serve ice cream. There was a citrus one too and then they had them as floats too with the juice added, but what I had was a soft serve in a cup and it was very very good! A very generous portion too and it melted way faster than I could eat it without getting brain freeze.

I am so looking forward to trying one of these but I thought it was ice cream??? If it looks like ice cream and tastes like ice cream but it's not....what is it? Healthy? I sorta doubt it, but on vacation......you gotta do what you gotta do.

Just to clarify, Dole Whips are not non-dairy. They are lactose free but they do contain the milk protein casein. This is an important distinction for vegans or for those with food allergies.
