Dole Whip

One Place - across from the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. (Magic kingdom)

Yep! We were really psyched by finding this quite unexpectedly! My DH went into get his lunch using the DDP and came out with a Dole Whip as his dessert.

Yep, wasn't that nice!? I even paid OOP for my granddaughter to have a Dole Whip as her dessert because she was on the kids' dining plan and it wasn't included. The best part is that you can pile the ice cream as high as you like (or whatever will fit in the dish they give you). I do prefer the float at Aloha Isle though.

I guess I will just have to try one since I've been hearing about it from all of you aficionados!

This is one of those much raved about but elusive things that I always manage to miss on my visits to the parks.

Thanks to all of you who posted as this is now on my bucket list! ("Bucket list" in that I have a long list of plans that will go completely out the window when the unforeseen and unimaginable happens and throws a monkey wrench in all the planning!!! You know that deal!)

Now I am off to find the secret location of the turkey leg.... ? cart??

I SEE people walking around with the giant turkey legs but their mouths are too full and their eyes are rolled back in their heads for me to ask them to point me in the right direction... :cloud9:

Thanks again for the tip!

Okay, now I am really craving a float!

Haven't had a turkey leg in forever, but I think the cart is in Frontierland, maybe by the boat, across from the shooting thingy. Too tired to be more specific than that tonight ;)

Yep, thats where!

I will look for the cart or at least all the turkeys without legs riding the "Jazzy Scooters" waiting in line for "The Carpets of Alladdin ride". You know how those "flightless" birds can't resist the flying rides!

umm...what's a Dole whip?

According to Wikipedia - "Though a Dole Whip has the taste and consistency of soft-serve ice cream, the dessert actually gets its texture from ordinary food thickeners. The only dairy content is a small amount of the milk derivative sodium caseinate." In WDW it is usually pineapple flavored and eaten in a float with pineapple juice.

Most Disneyphiles drool when you say Dole Whip. Not my favorite but my family loves them. :)

There is a picture in my blog - the link is in my signature.

That is exactly where it's at......In my bst Homer Simpson voice..."ummmmmm turkey leg."

Just this week I happened to overhear a tour guide at MK saying that the only four placed that the dole whip is served is at MK, Poly, Disneyland and at the Dole Plantation in Hawaii. Well, at least I have done three out of the four. :goodvibes

Last night I just saw Dole Whips sold in Honolulu's Ala Moana Shopping Center food court.

Dole Whip is sold to anyone that wants to buy it and serve it in their store with a soft serve machine.

In fact if you want you can buy some yourself.
