Just went to King's Hawaiian the local place Bakery and Cafe in Gardena, CA. They have Dole whip for $3.50 and the one with the juice and whip on top (sorry forgot what price this is). Very exciting for people for who love it! We got one and my wife wanted one more.

That's great! I've noticed that more and more frozen yogurt shops outside of Disney are starting to carry Dole Whip (pineapple and, sometimes, the other flavors). It's great for those that cannot get to the parks on a regular basis. It's even better when one can buy a container of it and get it home fast enough to be put in the freezer!

Menchie's Yogurt has DW on a rotational basis.

For those in the Placer County area OMG Yogurt (Roseville/Rocklin) has DW 100% of the time. It's owned/operated by a former CM.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I bought a whole bag (90 servings) of Dole whip mix from a commercial food service website. And I bought a soft serve ice cream maker. I don't even share.

Does it come out well? They say you really need a commercial soft serve machine to get the consistency right.

Unless you actually bought a commercial machine, in which case I admire your commitment.

That is quite the commitment. To be honest, i consider it just a novelty item to get while being "in the moment" at Disneyland. Outside the park there are thousands of better tasting treats.

The local Orange Leaf has a pineapple soft serve that has Dole pineapple and is pretty close to Dole Whip, though not quite exactly the same. I think the Disney version has a bit more punch to it.

So, if you buy the higher end cuisineart ice cream maker (correction: NOT the soft serve one) and simply stop the machine once the dole whip is at the desired consistency, it is perfect. I like to add a bit of cream and water to the powdered mix instead of just adding water.

I dump it in a huge frosting piping bag with one of those swirl tips.

I craved them while I was pregnant, so it was worth the investment. On super hot days, I still whip them out.

Our local froyo place has it every now and then ... but I make a point never to get it because it would make it less special for me when I'm actually in DL and able to get a "official" one.

On our drive back to Phoenix, we stumbled upon Dole Whip being served at Lappert's Ice Cream in Palm Desert.

I agree that DW tastes 'better' in the parks. But there's nothing like getting a DW from OMG Yogurt, putting on Visions Fantastic radio, closing your eyes and imagining you're 'home'. Just eat carefully and slowly so you don't poke yourself in the eye with the spoon!

Not very convenient but you can get them at the Dole Plantation on Oahu (have them hold the "spear") or at Aulani.

I've had Dole whip at Zero Degrees in the form of their Chamango sundae years ago. Vanilla custard soft serve, topped with dole whip topped with mango and then a chamoy sauce and tajin.

My kids were thrilled to find Dole Whips at the local Scandinavian Festival. What they have to do with Scandinavia, I have no idea, but it was still a happy discovery.

Sometimes, The Local Place does special dole whips with things like cake cubes and strawberry sauce...super yummy! Their curry and teriyaki are pretty good too. :)
