Im not sure where to post this, I did also post in the Welcome to DIS forum, but I was hoping someone on here can help me.

My family has been planning for a while now to take my 3yr old DS on his 1st Disney trip @ the end of Sept. We have booked 2 rooms, one for my family of 3 & the other room for my Parents. Well my mom lost her job a couple of weeks ago & can no longer afford for her, my dad & brother to go . My question is can we transfer the $$$ she has already paid on her room, and apply to the balance left on my room?

We have not yet hit that 45 day mark so she can still cancel without a penalty, & I have let a message with the Disney travel agent we used to book, but I have not heard back from her & thought maybe a veteran DIS'er may know the answer to my question. Thanks

I don't know for sure, but it would probably just be better to cancel her room. I don't think you can transfer the balance paid to your room. I think she will just receive the credit back. You could always call Disney just to inquire and ask the question. They can't officially do anything since they don't own your reservation if you went through a TA, but they would be able to answer the question, I'm sure.

It is unlikely that they will transfer the money from one reservation to another. It's a different number with different names; too great a potential for fraud. Your mother will get her money back and then can give it to you if she chooses. (But I have to ask - since she lost her job and can't afford to go, why would you expect her to give you the money? Won't she need it for herself and her family?)

Don't wait for the clock to run out. It's always best to take matters into your own hands and cancel something yourself instead of hoping someone else will handle it for you.
