Doing the end of the school year happy dance

I'm doing the happy dance but it isn't because I am going to WDW. Thursday is the last day of school for the year. I am so looking forward to summer vacation. It has been a really difficult year and I need the rest. Have all those summer projects ready to get started and my summer reading list ready as well.
Anyone else ready to do the end of the school year dance?

I'm ready! I know my kids are too. But they have to wait till June 11th.

Our last day is Friday. I've already got so many summer projects on my list that I'm not sure I'll get them all done--one of which is moving. Yuck!!

Not dancing yet. School doesn't end here until June 25.
But they don't go back until September 13.

June 3 here! Hurray! That's one month until we cruise! My DDs are both in every weekday activities this summer (DD#1 in theatre, DD#2 on swim team) that go til the end of July and then it's almost over as I come back Aug. 23 (no AC, I hope it's not hot in August or it's worksheet city so I can have all my fans running). I have a few little projects but I rarely get any done, much to DH's chagrin!

Wow!!! Some of you guys get out early!!! They don't get out around here till the end of June, like the 20th or something like that.

Do you start back really early in August?

Tomorrow is dd's last day as she graduates from 8th grade next week. I'm so excited!!!!!!!! School has been very rough here this year too. We are ALL ready for a break.

Oh I forgot to mention the rest of the school gets out on the 28th. And we started August 22 or something like that. We generally start the end of August.

today is ds's last day of school for the summer and i am so glad because he had a real difficult teacher this year.
They will start back up August 18th

Our kids last day is Friday the 21st, and yes I am excited for them. Our kids get like three days off for Thanksgiving and like 14 days over Christmas break. They only get one day off for days like presidents day and so on. They do get a week off around the end of March for Spring Break.

Our kids start back to school the 6th of August.

Our kids official last day is June 2. I am so ready for them to be out! We all need a break from school, homework, check writing. (although it will now be check writing to summer camp) I never thought I'd be a parent that would feel this way, but I do!!

Keep in mind that while we usually start one week before Labor Day (this year it's two weeks before ) we don't get some of the breaks the eastern schools get--we get 10 days at Christmas and Easter, plus a 5 day weekend around Thanksgiving and the usual Mondays--MLK, Presidents, Memorial Day etc. We don't get a "winter break" or a "jersey week", so we get out earlier. We also have 5 snow days built into our calendar--this year we used 4 so we had one to spare, but if we would go over we have to make them up--no, we don't get them taken off if we don't use them, I wish!

Happy Dancing all around with you- our last day of school is Friday May 21st - we start school on August 9, 2004 next fall.

We get 3 days for "fall break" 3 for Thanksgiving, 2 weeks for winter break, this year we have finally caught up with the rest of the world and are getting Pres week off along with 1 week for spring break-

- we don't get any snow days

I was just looking over our school calendar for next school year.

The first day of school is Monday, September 13. Then school will be closed Thursday and Friday September 16 and 17.(Rosh Hashanah) So only 3 days of school that first week.

They will also be closed for the following days

Columbus Day
Election Day
Veterans Day
Thanksgiving 2 days
Christmas 6 days
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Mid Winter Recess (President's Week) 5 days
Good Friday
Spring Break 5 days (end of April)
Memorial Day
Schools in Brooklyn and Queens also get Anniversary Day in June. The schools in the Bronx, Staten Island and Manhattan do not get this day off.

The last day of school will be June 28.

Our kids get out late, but I love having all the breaks during the school year.
