This is our first trip with a baby so I never paid attention to these things in the past. Which means - I have a lot of questions!!!! :) :) :)

We will only be going to Epcot, and just for one day (This trip is really just so my older girls can attend a tournament. Going into a park is just an add on this time around)

Can you do rider swap while using FP+? How does that work??
How does rider swap work when just walking on?
I would want to do it for Test Track and Soarin'

And I just want to make sure its okay to hold my baby girl on my lap for Living With The Land and Spaceship Earth.

Thats all I can think of right now - Any other thoughts or words of advice are always appreciated!!

A four month old? Sounds a little extreme to be taking a child that young on anything at Disney.

Not trying to be rude but I'd bag rides with a tot.

I know that you can use rider swap and FP+ together, I'm not sure how though.

Those two rides are fine to hold an infant on. They are super gentle. Just be ready for the backwards part on Spaceship Earth.

For fp+ and rider swap you can actually double dip, get one FP for you for test track and one for hubby for soarin (add kids to plan as necessary) after the person with the FP rides the other can ride on the rider swap pass. Each rider swap ticket is good for up to 3 ppl.

I'll be taking a 7 week old in August for two weeks for a family wedding... You'll be fine on any rides without a height restriction with the baby.

Have fun! I took my son when he was 3 months old to Universal and we had a great time. When in doubt, ask the CMs at the start of the line. :)

Why? There are plenty of rides (albeit not all at Epcot) that are suitable for kids of all ages. We did MK and DHS (x3 days for SWW in May) with our then 3 month old. She rode everything without a height restriction with us. I wore her in my Tula for a lot of the rides just because it was easiest for me if she was napping.

To the OP: rider swap is easy to use. The whole party needs to be present at the entrance to show the CM the baby and they will give you a Rider swap (good for the entire day, ours was good through the end of May) that you can go back and use any time that day. Very simple and easy as long as the entire party (2 adults and baby) are at the entrance.
We had no problems with DD riding rides as long as she wasn't "held" above the restraints (only encountered this on Pooh Ride).

Rider swap and FP+ worked well together too. Show up during your FP+ window and same process. Show baby to CM, get RS pass good for any time that day.

Rider swap is great, and easy. Allowed my wife to get on many rides multiple times without any wait. And when my oldest daughter was tall enough to ride those coasters, she got to go on with one of us and then go on with the other. So it's a great way for the older kids to get a couple rides in as well.

Babies can go on the majority of rides at Disney.

And yes, op, the 4 month old can sit on your lap on land. I don't remember spaceship earth. I took my then 3 month old last year. Disney with a baby is so easy. Check out a park map. The baby care station is on the Mexico side of future world near to where future world and world showcase meet.

I can't help with the rider swap because we never did it. I just wanted to speak in defense of taking babies on rides.

Yes I am the Extreme Disney Mom. Watch out for me - And all the other thousands of parents who take their babies to Disney..... ;)

Thanks everyone for your help! I don't really care much about riding Test Track, but I would love to get on Soarin. But if doing the ride swap takes up to much time, I'll forego both. :)

Just be careful, babies can overheat very quickly and people who "wear" them, be extra careful because the parent's body heat can make the babies body heat rise. I would be most worry about heat and sunburn (since you can't put sunscreen on young infants). Good luck

Agreeing with a previous poster who advised you to use rider switch in conjunction with FP+ to beat the tiering at Epcot. Get a FP for Test Track for one adult, Soarin' for the other adult, and then at the entrance to the fastpass line to each ride walk up to the cast member (all of you together) and tell them you want to rider switch--you'll get a paper rider switch ticket (and no you don't need a FP). The person(s) with the FP for that ride should ride first, and then you can use the paper rider switch ticket for you and up to two more riders (three total). Wash, rinse, and repeat at the other ride (only the order will be reversed as to who rides first because that person will have the FP for that ride).

Also keep in mind that you don't have to use your rider switch pass immediately...they usually don't expire until the end of the month.

Some might argue that this is violating the spirit of the rider switch pass...but I say (speaking from experience) that it's small consolation for having to drag a baby around the park!
