This is my first trip report ever, so hopefully everyone enjoys reading it. Let's see I'll start with a little info about us. Brian and I have been together for 4 years now and we have the best time together ever! My mom lives in Florida, about 2 hours from the Mouse's House, so I've been to Disney more times than I can count. Brian on the other hand went once as a baby and again at 13......that was it! He's 30 now! Could you image?? NO Disney for 17 years!
NO WAY! As many times as I've been to Disney, I've never stayed on the property, so last September we took 5 days and stayed at the Poly.
OMG I am NEVER staying off property again! That was the best trip ever and we decided to go every year.
I'd always wanted to go see the Christmas decorations and always thought that it would never happen.
Then out of nowhere, Brian calls me at work and says "Want to go to Disney for New Years?" OF COURSE I DO!! So we booked the trip, we were going to stay at the Poly leave on 12/29 and come home 1/3. That's when we hit a slight road bump. The airfare was out of control, I'm talking $500 A PIECE!
We didn't want to pay that so we decided to drive. I've done that road trip so many times I could probably do it with my eyes closed. Since driving from Jersey to Florida takes about 16-17 hours that would have cut into our time at the parks and we didn't want to take to many days off of work in January sooooooo..........we changed the dates completely! We ended up booking 12/14-12/18 but there were no rooms available at the Poly. Brian LOVES the monorail and has a hard time staying in a hotel that isn't on the monorail route. Back to the drawing board. I don't even remember how the Boardwalk Inn came up, but I thought it would be cool to see Disney's take on the east coast shoreline, being that we are from Jersey and have the best shore ever! OK OK so I might be a little biased
Plus I liked the idea that certain aspects were designed based on Atlantic City NJ! It was like bringing home with us!
Up Next.........
**We're on our way, or are we? Cancelled Flight, Over booked flight, and two trips to the airport, and MVMCP with PICS**

Our flight was scheduled to leave Thursday 12/14 at 8:05 pm. Perfect! We got out of work at 3:30 so there was plenty of time to get to the airport since it is only a 45 minute drive. Brian decided to check the flight status before we left work, delayed by 3 hours! We decided to leave for the airport as scheduled anyway.
and waiting
and waiting
All the while, the boards kept saying "delayed" Brian decided to call his brother and have him check on AirTran's website. Sure enough, CANCELLED! Back to the AirTran counter we go! They tell us to call the 1-800 number and they will help us with a new flight and we could pick our bags up from baggage claim. While I waited for the suitcases, Brian called AirTran. What a good team we are
all the hotels in the area were booked solid so we drove home. The next morning we drive back to the airport, check-in and are told that we will get our seat assignment at the gate. I had a bad feeling here, they always do that when you check-in. Sure enough, the flight was OVER BOOKED!! I was beginning to think this trip was not such a good idea. Since this trip was our Christmas gifts to each other and we weren't really exchanging I decided I wanted to do a little something for Brian to show him how special he is
I came to the DISboards for help! THANK YOU!! I found memories by sarah! She was wonderful! I had a stocking delivered to the hotel so when we checked in, they would have it for him. Since we didn't check in when we were suppose to I got worried about his special delivery so I had to tell him
.

I've been to Princeton a couple times, so I know where-abouts you are! I'm down close to Atlantic City.
Hi to all the other Jersey Girls, I am from North Jersey and we usually go to Wildwood every year but not last year and not this year because its Disney this year in April. Great report so far, I am looking forward to reading more.
We walked to Epcot and took the monorail from the TTC to the MK. It seemed much easier than the ferry boats and busses. Plus, I LOVE the monorail. That man's voice gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day!
