It's very easy to continue atkins once you get into it, BUT, if he slips, it can be tough to start again. You're supposed to go back to induction!

What I would advise is eating a lot of salads & veggies, not doubling up on meats. Sure, a little extra is fine, but it's not really filling. You can eat 3 steaks & still not feel like you've had a full meal. Plus it's not good to add all that extra protein. Remember, Atkins is low carb, not high protein.
Once induction is over, more vegetable carbs can be added. At some point you can add things like berries and some baked potato. Berries with plain whipped cream (no sugar, or maybe splenda) are wonderful! I bet they could make that on board!
I like carb solutions bars, but they can knock some people out of ketosis.
