Dog toys

My dog has destroyed every single toy I have given her ! the only thing she won't destroy is her tennis balls, she has a couple she just likes to chew on and a couple that she likes to play catch with

My dog also guts stuffed toys immediately. We tried the animals that you put an empty water bottle in. She loves it and hasn't chewed through it. Just need to replace the bottle every so often.

We have the Kongs and they do last. My labs love softer toys so we got them the Kong Wubbas which they don't like. They also did well with the braided fleece things we got at our church craft show. I have gotten them farm animals without stuffing and the one LOVES it, but they fight over it and it gets torn apart, but she still loves it. The first thing is the squikers have to be torn out! The tire things they won't touch. DD gave them a Victoria Secret Pink dog she no longer wanted and it is still around a year later!

Our lab mix will chew just about anything (including carpet and socks (swallows the anklet-type ones, which scares me to death), but the only toys she hasn't destroyed are the kongs. I stuff them with a mixture of dog kibbles, peanut butter, and a little bit of canned food and freeze them. I've heard many people say that the kongs will occupy their dogs for hours -- ours will get everything out in less than 15 minutes. But she's happy with it.

I also have gotten those filled bone marrow bones at the pet store. I think they cost about $10. Once she gets their stuffing out, I fill them up like I do the kongs, freeze it, and she seems to like it better than the kongs.

Try Sharpa Dog toys. They are plush with squeekys. They have a tough netting inside, and my dogs have yet to destroy any of them.

These toys come in all different sizes. They are a little expensive, but they are well worth the money!

Our dogs are also destructive with their toys, and we now only buy antlers for them. The antlers satisfy their urge to chew, they don't splinter, and the minerals grind down so they're safe chews.

Have you ever tried NylaBone? They make different toys for all sizes/stages of dogs- from puppy on up. And they are rated for mild, moderate, aggressive chewers etc. Not those exact categories but they make it easy to pick one that won't be destroyed immediately by your dog depending on how hard it chews.

Plus they are the only brand that are safe for pets to chew- I've never had a problem with them breaking off accidentally- and they are made of digestible material. Not dangerous like rawhide that can break off and causing choking or other problems once the dog swallows it.

The only two toys my dog can have are Nylabones and Kongs. They last forever.

The Kong is fun because it bounces/rolls and you can fill it with food. The Nylabones are great for just chewing. We have never had a problem with her breaking anything off of either and I will allow her to have them in her crate during the day.

I get my dogs the knotted rope toys. They destroy them in about four to six months, but those last a lot longer than rubber ones with squeakers in them. They tear them up in hours.

When we first brought our dog home my brother gave us a giant rope toy. It was destroyed in about 15 minutes. Dog beds, rugs, anything left out... We quickly learned what the dog can have that she won't tear apart instantly and my kids learned to keep the back yard picked up ;)

I buy the toys by Kong and Nylabone. Seems that is the only thing she won't destroy within a few seconds. I have been buying antlers for her as well but her older sister chewed on the antler and broke her tooth so now I am super paranoid with the antlers being too hard for them to chew on.

You might want to try a Goughnut. They are green donut-shaped toys. You can order them at www.goughnuts.com. They are super-sturdy and are guaranteed. If your dog chews through the green part and gets to the red core at any time, the company will replace the toy.

I bought mine at my vet's office, but you obviously can just order straight from the website. It says that the toys are made in California.

I go to the butcher at our grocery store ( Publix) and buy a flat of marrow bones- usually get about 12 for $2.50. They can be given raw or boiled- but my lab will chew them for hours!---Kathy

Our little Cockapoo chews through all the toys we get her... Even the Tuffy's toys

...poor thing has soo many holes and is completely wrecked, and defluffed.

The only things she hasn't been able to wreck:

Dog ball from Planet Dog (they will give you a new ball if the dogs wrecks it) and deer antlers.

My dog is a little miniature dachshund, she weights all of 10 lbs. She tears up her toys so fast or she use to. Stuffing everywhere, squeaker out. Well one day I found a toy that had no stuffing, 3x stronger than any other toy, and it has a squeaker. The brand is called Dogzilla Splatz. She has had one for 6 months, uses it every day and has not gotten that squeaker out or has been able to tear it up. I just bought her a new one for Christmas. It's the only toy I will now buy for her.

I found two of these (different colors) in medium at Walmart for very little (maybe $4 each?). My one dog is afraid of it (and she loves the rope knots and tears them apart in a few months). But my other dog just loves them. She found the squeeker in both ends (head and tail) and loves to go around the house with her racoon in her mouth squeeking as she goes.

Successful purchase.

Hi and Happy Holidays to you all. :santa: Just wanted to add to the list of toys for those dogs that can destroy a toy before they have time to really pay for it. :sad1:

My daughters 2 dogs, a Rottie and an Amstaff-Bulldog mix, both over 60 pounds can destroy even the toys that say "indestructible". The only thing we can give them are Nylabones and a new ball that we found from West Paw Designs. It is called the "HUCK" and they have had it for months and months and only a little piece is missing from it. It is mostly the Amstaff's and he carries it around like a security blanket. He has to have it everywhere he goes.

Their website is www.westpawdesign.com

I have only found them online :surfweb: and not in any store I have been in. We have ordered them for friends off amazon.com as well.

Hope this helps you find a toy for your pups.

Happy New Year :wizard:
