Dog Sprayed by Skunk

My son's dog was sprayed by a skunk this morning. Anyone have a good remedy to bathe her in?

Tomato juice.

Omg! If you can get to Petco or a pet store they sell this type of stuff. We used to keep a couple of bottles on hand but I’ve also been to gas stations late at night collecting anything I could find with tomato juice in it!

If on any house surfaces there is a product called “Odor ban”. This happened to us and our dog ran through the living room before we realized. We felt like the smell was everywhere including the walls! This product worked to remove the smell not just mask it. Good Luck!

I’ve always heard use tomato juice. Looks like there’s some other concoctions though that may not be as messy.

Let us know what worked in the hopes will never have to use it!

A friend used tomato juice, but she also used hydrogen peroxide on her black labrador and it bleached his fur. The woman used black shoe polish to "dye" the fur black again so her DH wouldn't get upset.

I can personally vouch for the above working much, much better than anything else we've ever tried (Skunk-out, tomato juice and various other type of shampoo). So much so that I now keep large amounts of peroxide & baking soda in the dog pantry. And no longer let the dogs roam free on the farm in the early AM/late PM.
