Has anyone seen a sign like this at Home Depot, Lowes, or Ace? I need to get one, but I don't want to pay shipping online.

I am sick and tired of some idiot leaving their dog's poo on the street in front of my house EVERYDAY. I can see two piles from my window as I sit here on the computer. I have to walk around it to get my mail. What is wrong with people?!

I don't know if this sign will help much..the type of people who leave dog pooh behind are the "it's all about me" type.

At least it's a try.

I agree, don't waste your money. I walk my dog at the lake near my house and there are not only signs, but they also provide bags in several locations for people to clean up after their dogs. I can't tell you the number of people that just let the dogs go and then keep walking.

I have a feeling it's my next door neighbor, who really isn't a bad guy. I wonder if maybe he thinks it doesn't bother us. Although, I don't know who wouldn't be bothered by it. Anyway, maybe the sign will knock some sense into him and he'll realize he should clean it up.

We have a ton of kids in our neighborhood and we don't have sidewalks. The street is where all the kids play. It's just absolutely disgusting to have piles of dog poo all over the place.

You might also look at pet stores like Pet Smart or Petco.

Thanks! I hadn't thought about that. :thumbsup2

Edited to add: I found one on the PetSmart website so maybe they have them in the store too. The only thing is, it says "Please Curb Your Dog". I've never heard it put that way before. If it didn't have an image of a pooper scooper on it, I would have no idea what it meant.

I think a sign like that in your yard might be viewed as snarky by some and I am not sure if you wouldn't start finding poop in your yard next.

I am having the same problem and we have a dog. We put vinyl fencing in and people think its a poop palace now in front. Lawnmaster comes to our house and always leaves those little flags w/ the circle and line through the kid/dog saying pesticides used keep off. I "transplanted" the sign to the front of the fence and haven't had a problem in over 3 weeks now

I see what you mean, but how else am I going to get my point across?

We had a neighbor, George, who used to let his dog poop on my yard. I wasn't going to get into a big tadoo with him, but I always wondered why he felt that he didn't need to clean it up. I used to clean up after Ted if he went on someone's lawn...except George's. ;)

Just ask him to clean up his dog's crap. Nicely. :teeth:

"Hi, Dave. Could you clean up Fido's messes in the street, please? Thanks! Hey, want a beer?"

Putting up a sign seems like a good thing to do if you don't know who is responsible. It seems passive/agressive otherwise.

Whats WRONG is that they are SELFISH and LAZY (and in our county BREAKING the law as well)!

I have a neighbor that Walks her HUGE dog on a retractable leash and lets it go where it wants EVERY DAY, she walks with a plastic bag mind you, but NEVER bends to pick up his PILE of Poop. IT IS DISGUSTING.
I have a dog myself and every day walk him in front of my own home and pick it up.
She saw me one day and asked about my dog (a cockapoo) and since then she no longer POOPS in front of my house but STILL lets him go on other neighbors. It is DISGUSTING! So, I mentioned to my neighbors who was "leaving presents" and they are all just waiting to catch her in the act, till then they get stuck picking it up.

I must add in that years ago, in our first house we always found poop outside our front gate (right near the mailbox) which was a split rail with the grass going down to street, about 5', no sidewalks. It used to really irk me to come home from work, go get mail and see POOP. We had no dog at the time.
Anyhoo, I noticed that it was a neighbor several doors away who was doing this lovely deed week after week...... Well, I let her, YUP, for several days actually ignored the POOP.............. THEN
We picked it up and DUMPED it RIGHT on her walkway UP TO HER HOUSE! :thumbsup2
NEVER saw poop in front of my house again!! Sometimes it takes ACTION to make people SEE the light! :rotfl2:

Well, that's the thing, I don't really know if it is my neighbor. A LOT of people walk their dogs by our house so I really don't know for sure who's leaving it. I just thought it might be him because he has three dogs and lives right next door. :confused3

I mentioned it to my mom one time and she shocked me by suggesting I put it in a paper bag and light in on fire on there doorstep. :scared1: Anyone who knows my mom would be surprised that she said something like that.

My next door neighbor at a townhouse let her dogs dig under the fence and poop on my patio just a few feet away from my kitchen table. I hated those dogs - tried to nip at me in my own yard.

They kept knocking down the barriers that I put on my side so I finally just did as you did. Gathered it up and put it across their back door. No more problem after that.

Often towns have their own pet ordinances, and if it is being ignored they will come place signs for free. THe signs sometimes include the ordinance number and the fine amount.

Someone in our neighborhood put up signs down the street that said "Poop pollutes" I thought that was so funny. Now there is a sign telling dog owners to clean up after their dogs and then on the bottom it says "to Dogs: Grrr, Ruff, bark" Kinda goofy if you ask me.

Hope the poop stops in front of your house - I agree its gross.

We have a sign company. I couldn't believe it but we had to make a sign for our lawn last summer!

I live at the beach. Most people have small pebbles or stones for their "lawn" we have grass.....

During the summer we get a lot of weekly renters who bring their dogs on vacation with them. They are coming from houses that have yards with grass, so naturally Fido is probably only used to doing the business on grass.....

They walk their dogs to my lawn, and go. It causes numerous yellow burn spots and there are PLENTY who don't pick any poo up!!!

I have 2 kids who PLAY on the front grass and also we use organic and all natural fertilizer to keep everything green and thriving....when dogs go on the grass it kills it. Our 2 dogs are trained to go in a mulch spot in our backyard.

Our signs are very friendly ( we have 2 ) they say " From one dog owner to another, we work hard to keep our yard clean and green, so please pee and poo your dog someplace else "

They seem to work but not always. One lady took her dog right over to the grass while we were outside and read the sign while her dog was peeing. When we asked her not to do this again she said " Oh sorry my dog can't read" !!! Others do it early in the AM when they think we aren't up.

My husband wanted to put a small sign out that said " Please leave us your address before you leave, so that we can come over to YOUR house and pee & poo OUR dogs on your lawn..."

We only have to have the signs up during the summer, because it is the tourists who do this....

I thought you were going to say that you wanted their address so you could deliver the poo back to them. :lmao: That may have worked also. ;)

We had problems with a little old lady walking her dog down to our property then letting the dog off the leash so it could run around and crap all over my yard. I really tried to be nice the first two times I went outside to say something and nicely pointed out that we had pooper scooper and leash laws. She needed to keep the dog ON the leash and had to clean up after it. WHen I went out and did this the second time I feel I was still respectful and tried to be nice but I was firm and stronger in my tone. She was snotty with me both times and the second time told me I was rude and selfish?!?! (Rude and selfish to not want her dog crap on my property? If I wanted dog crap on my yard I'd get my own dog!:lmao: )

The last time my DD saw her first and opened the window to yell at her and I just opened the next window and started screaming that the police were coming to get her(No I did not call). Ever since she's been walking her dog in the opposiite direction of my house. Guess the third time was the charm.

We also have a neighbor named Dave who lets his dog poop on other peoples property without cleaning it up, well my one neighbor picks it up and throws the bag on the hood of his car. If he is outside when she does she calls over to him and says Dave, I have a present for you and then throws the bag onto the car. :rotfl2:

Needless to say he stopped letting his dog wander onto her property.
