Dog question

hi there, i own an ig. she is 4. She is the best dog ive ever had. full of personality. they are hard to poty train. you always have to keep them leashed(unless in fenced yard). they need lots of attention....lots. if you want to find out everything you can about igs go to igpost.com i still visit that site everyday.

I have the BEST hypoallergenic dogs in the whole wide world. Have you ever heard of the Havanese breed? They are in the Bichon family, but are called Bichon Havanese (or Havana Silk Dog). My husband is HIGHLY allergic to dogs, and they can lie in his face and on his pillow and he never has a problem, even when their coats are long. Yes, they are long-haired dogs, but many Havanese owners keep them in more of a puppy cut if they are not going to show them. They are very smart, happy, friendly, family-oriented, "velcro" dogs. Their tails curl up over their backs, and they prance when they walk. They are fairly sturdy, and not "breakable" feeling!

The only downside is that if they are alone more than 4-5 hours regularly per day and don't have their "human fix," they can get depressed if they don't have a dog buddy to play with! Look at www.havanese.org. My Toby and Tucker are the loves of my life (along with my DH, DD's and DS, of course!)

Any other DIS'ers own a Havanese?

Heather, her husband and my DH and I had a chance to meet today. They got to see our Kerry Blue Terrier and check out some other dogs. It was really great to meet someone from the DIS board, and I am excited to see which dog they end up choosing!

What a day!

No allergy problems with Reilly at all. And he's such a sweetie. Can I get a clone? Today gave me a lot to think about and it did a world of good for my allergy concerns. It's finally sinking in that it is possible to have a dog and my joy is hardly containable....

You tried pretty hard to get him to make you react and it just wasn't happening. Can you believe all that fur that was flying?! He looks like a new dog today. I can't wait to see what you pick out as your new family member!
