Dog question

Okay, I googled the whole anal gland thing. According to the illustration, they are "at the 4 and 8 o'clock position" around the anal opening.

This is NOT where she is licking.

And, should she continue, she will be going to the vet. That's not a job I'm willing to do myself.

Maybe she has a bite? Like she sat in ants or something?

I can tell you this though - when Chloe injured her tail about six months ago, she couldn't groom herself. I was never so glad to hear that slurping noise again, because she started smelling like dog urine.

This is too weird..... this morning out of the blue my dog started licking under his tail and scooting which in his case means full anal glands. It's like he read this thread last night and decided his glands were bothering him!

Guess we'll make a trip to the vet in the next day. Given how often this dog needs his expressed maybe it's time I learned how to do the dirty work .... how hard is this to learn to do???

Did you change her food? My dog gets scratches a lot when he eats certain brands of food.

I seem to be alone, but I would guess it is fleas. Makes sense- you stopped the flea stuff- the dog is itching. I don't know about all this anal sac nonsense. Could be I suppose? Before you chance rupturing a puss filled pastey sac, try some flea drops. Could also be stress if there is any chance of that.
