I've heard there is an area where we can let our dogs run off leash. I was wondering if there is a seperate area for the smaller dogs? Also, does your dog have to be fixed to take advantage of the park?

The Dog Park/Run is located next to loop 300.There is not a separate area for the smaller dogs.
The dogs do not have to be fix'd,,therefore you may wanna keep a close eye on your pup if she/he is not fix'd.

What Frank said.

A few other rules include...

No puppies under 4 mos or females in heat allowed

All dogs must be supervised at all times by someone over 12.

Anyone under 12 in the park must be accompanied by an adult.

No choke, chain, prong or training collars allowed inside the dog park.

As Frank said, no separate area for small dogs so you'll want to scope out who may already be in there before you go in and keep tabs on the other dogs there if you have a small dog.

If there are small dogs in the park when we bring our border collies in, we try and keep our gang away.

Of course nothing we can do about the small dogs that come chasing ours. ;)

We've had pretty good luck but not all owners are smart/attentive with their dogs and not all dogs love all other dogs.

Know your dog well and stay alert and you should be fine.

All of the above......one last thing....... please, PLEASE pick up after your dog!
There are bags available at the dog park and in any pet loop, use them.
I love dogs and have one myself, but this week at the dog park has been a land mine field.... if you know what I mean .....:-(

Agree with docbrown 100%!! The kicker is when you find the "deposits" 3' outside the dog park.

Big or small, please clean up after your pooches!

Thank You All for all the good info.It will make our time there alot less stressful!:cool1:

I really wish they would separate the dog park so that the little guys can have their space also. My 4 pounder is scared too death when we let her go to the park because of the larger dogs. It wouldn't be hard for Disney to put a fence across the area over the "mound" so they little ones can play also.

I hear you my two BT's don't really like it either. Luckily, we usually go during off peak camping times and we usually have our BT's with us when riding our bikes around the resort. They ride in a pull behind that most people use for small children. We pulled the seats out and put a dog bed in ours. :) So, anyway when we see no one is in the dog park we let our kids go in and when someone brings their's, ours come out. :) We also have a big play pen that we take camping with us that we stake in that encombus's the front area outside our 5th wheel, so at least they can also be free in that area too just incase the dog park is always full. :) Thank goodness Disney isn't picky as some of the other campgrounds about what you can have outside your camper. :)

Keep an eye out for our big OLD border collie in the dog park next week.... he'll be the one acting as the WalMart greeter...."hi! Come on in, hey guys, see the new dog??" Sheesh.....
