I took my dog to a new groomer today and will not be back. She was very rough with her. Mindy even fell off the table. She was moving around fine all day. She even was playing fetch with the kids. Now she is moving kind of slow and wobbling. I told the groomer she has hip dysplacia (sp?). But it didn't seem to matter to her. Anyway it has been so long since I had to give her asprin I can't remember how much. She is 60 pounds. She hasn't wobbled in 2 years. I left a message with the vet that she needs to get in tomorrow. Any advice?

My dog is a 55 lb Springer Spaniel and when he was sore and stiff last year due to Lyme's disease, the vet said I could give him 2 buffered aspirins per day, spaced apart.

I'd give him one after breakfast and one after dinner. Make sure your doggie has food in her stomach.

Poor baby!!! :(

Thanks, I just gave her one. She just ate a bowl of food and hour ago. i hope she feels better in the morning. She is a young 7.

I think my mom used to give her alderly min. collie half an asprin 2xs a day and also would give her some glycosamine(sp) that is supposed to help with arthritis type pain. Hope your dog feels better today.

Good for you for calling the vet. Maybe they can guide you on how much of what to give to the little darling. :thumbsup2

Hope your fur baby gets better! :cheer2:

She is moving around a lot better today. She does get SynoviCre on a daily basis. I was just shocked that this woman was a groomer. She was so mean.

I went and spent $200 on shears not too long ago, after the groomer came to our house and Chloe squatted and peed at the site of her, on my dining room carpet. She was so scared.

The groomer always wanted me out of the room, so Lord only knows how Chloe was treated. She would also knick her in places. :sad2:

Now we do it ourselves. She gets a summer cut twice a year and before long, the shears will have paid for themselves.

If you could tell me the brand of clippers you bought that would be great. Mindy is a mix breed, her mom was a Lab Chow and her dad a Shepard Rott. So she has a pretty thick coat and her hair is longer like a Lab. After this I am just going to do it myself. She may look funny the first couple of time but it is not worth it to me.

DH isn't here and I'm not sure where he put them, but I know they're made by Oster. We asked a groomer at Pets Mart what they would recommend and she took Chloe's hair-type into account.

We had to purchase a second blade as well.

I'll find out when he gets back from fishing and post it on this thread.
