DOG FUR !!! Need new CHEAP vacum?!

Just finished repainting our floor boards and am soooo grossed out ! I thought our vacum was doing a pretty good job of getting the dog hair ug: up....well its not. The vacum we have is OLD!! I believe my DH had gotten it from his heighbor around 10 years ago. Any suggestions? I am on a budget and it can't be very expensive. Before anyone even suggests it....I know all about the ANIMAL by Dyson. No way its in my budget right no...sorry

I have had a bunch of different vacuums and the best suction by far is the Eureka. I have tried Panasonic, Sharp, Hoover several times and with dogs the past 25 years and 3 cats, the Eureka motor/suction is the best so far.

The Eureka Optima!!!! It's amazing! We have 4 cats and a Sheltie and boy does it suck up the hair! Plus it's really lightweight (11lbs..which is great as I have RTC tendonitis in my shoulder and am only 4ft.11inches tall) and it has a switch that lets you operate the vacuum with or without the brush turning on the bottom. When I go from carpeting to hardwood floors I just flick the switch, so the brush stops spinning and the suction just sucks the dirt and hair off the wood floor. I read many reviews and did a month of research before buying mine at Target for $59.99. I had a Bissell clearview and it broke after 1 1/2 years of use! It's also got a cool loop handle and the handle adjusts heights...great for my family because now my 7y.o. ds like's to vacuum and my 6ft.2inch dh can use it too! Hope this helps!
