Dog Friendliness at Disney

In my opinion Disney and DVC might as well have a dog friendly lodging and monitor it, because right now lots of dogs are being snuck in. :sad2:

to the OP, the new kennels seem really nice and well staffed.

Sammie, those are service dogs, don't you know?

You could tell your dog he/she is going to Disney. Might run to the car. Maybe DVC could build a resort just for pet owners. The quick service location can have a line for people and a line for pets. The pets can have their own kttwc. They cold have their pictures taken with Pluto. :rotfl:

make that two votes against, and I'm a dog lover, exhibitor and breeder.

Make that 3 votes against.

If Disney were to make a DVC pet friendly, that would be the one that I would not stay at. Like many have said, people aren't nearly as careful as I would want them to be.

:rotfl: They could have their own dining plan too - 2 meals and 2 dog biscuits per day.

Another against. No thank you.

:) Our Jack travels well now. We had a bit of car sickness (heavy panting, shaking and pitifulness) when she was around two. Now that we have driven around town with her almost daily (she usually is in a car seat), she is great. For thunderstorms and fireworks she gets Valium (she is 10-12lbs, gets a 1/4 tab). She is now almost six. Maybe a pill would work for you.

:lmao: yep that one that about took my ankle off at a Disney lobby was definitely one. :rolleyes1

LOL!! Yeah the one in the CL lounge sitting on the couch and eating cheese from the offerings was a Therapy dog!:lmao:

They needed therapy alright, just not the kind a dog can give;)

The $75 each way fee is on Southwest and you have to make reservations for the animal as they only allow 5 per flight. That is what I found out about 6 months ago when we considered bringing cats down to out winter home in Florida and then flying back to RI for 2-3 weeks at Christmas and thinking we should take them with us. We ended up leaving the cats home with our son and they are probably much happier that way.

I think those who sneak animals into rooms are very unfair to everyone who may have a pet allergy that could flare up if they got a room that had been occupied by a dog or cat. I think they should also keep certain rooms available for those who truly do have service dogs and if they assign them to someone without one at least give them a chance to decline the room if they have allergy problems. Having had severe allergic reactions to cats as a child s (which I outgrew at about age 24) I know what a damper it can put on what should be a good time to be sick and groggy from the antihistamines.
