Dog food savings anyone?

I just want to THANK YOU for pointing me to this site!! I have 3 (small) dogs and it's such a pain to lug home a 30 pound bag of dog food every few weeks. I love that they have the auto ship option, and they sell Blue Buffalo, which is our preferred brand. The pricing is the same as what PetSmart sells it for, but not having to actually go there is a huge win for me!

I am a pre-vet student so I taken classes on animal nutrition. There is a couple of websites I like http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/ for their info on dog food. I can tell you that our 3 dogs having problems due to the food they were eating (nutro natural, eukanuba) that was before I learn what to look for. After a lot of vet visit and research taste of the wild is really one of the best food out there for the price. I am not sure which type blue food you feed your dogs but I would recommend you do some research because for the price you are paying you can get better quality dog food for you dogs. Blue is not but but not as good as it can be.

Glad to hear you are taking pet nurition. My vet said they didn't get into nutrition much when he was in school, the new vet who joined him is the same way and recommends Iams! I was on my own for research. I want to look into other foods since our Wellness now has Oatmeal as the fourth ingredient and no a meat.

Yes! We have a dachshund and they do have a small bites variety. We get the 20lb bag for $11.

Interesting. I didn't know they had a smaller bite.

My Chihuahua eats the regular size with no problem.

I'm glad too that they are changing what they teach about pet nutrition. Maybe vets will stop recommending crappy Science Diet now!!

We do Taste of the Wild also. I prefer to feed my dogs a grain free diet. They eat so much less (meaning much less waste). I have 2 dogs (45 lbs and 25 lbs) and one 30 lb bag lasts us for about 6-7 weeks. Tractor Supply sells it for $42.99 and there are sometimes $5 off coupons and it goes on sale for $5 off occasionally.

Your vet is right there they don't teach a lot about pet nutrition. I took them as electives :confused3. My vet has been practicing over 30 years and he has taken different courses on pet nutrition he also is surprise how lightly is taken. One of his first questions was what were we feeding them when we started having problems. I hope you find a better choice take a look at taste of the wild it might work for you too:).
