Doesn't it seem like a better deal to pay OOP at Brown Derby?

I'm dying to see Fantasmic! (we skipped it last time) and dying to eat at the Brown Derby but have always overlooked it because I didn't want to spare my 2 TS credits. Finally today, I checked into the actual meal prices and found it to be only $37/adult and $11/child to eat at a signature restaurant with Fantasmic! seats. That seems like a great deal to me! For our family of 5 (granted one's a baby), the total for us all to have appetizers, entrees & desserts here would be $96 (plus tax & tip I know). I can't imagine why people would use 2 credits when it seems like a better deal to pay OOP.
It just seems like when we ate at Le Cellier our bill was over $150 and they only charged 1 credit. Heck, at the HDDR, they charge $50/ adult or 2 credits. It just seems like a better deal to pay ourselves and save the credits... Anyone else see this or am I crazy?

Hello 3princesses4us, How did you come up with $37?, is it the minumum charge at BD? I was thinking about booking the Fantasmic package too but I already booked the HDDMR and I thought I can't afford another 2 TS credit. But if you are correct, maybe I should do the same and use the credit some place else.

According to allearsnet.com which is a very popular Disney restaurant & everything else source, the Fantasmic! Dinner Package at Hollywood Brown Derby is $36.99 for adults and $10.99 for children 3-9 and it includes appetizer or salad (cobb is for 2 people to share), entrees (including steak!) and desserts plus tickets for Fantasmic! I know, it seems like a much better deal than I had ever thought too...

That price sounds about right and is exactly why I decided to pay OOP. Plus this way I don't have to worry about telling the waiter, listen to what I can and can't have and can save the 2 credits for elsewhere. I love BD and highly recommend it!

My DH, DD and I went to three Signature Restaurants the week before Christmas: Jiko, California Grill and the Hollywood Brown Derby. We decided to pay OOP for the Brown Derby (FDP). Excluding alcoholic drinks the bills were:

Jiko $176
C.G. $217
B.D. $121

"Out Of Pocket" = OOP Additionally, the prices quoted do not include Tax, gratuity, or beverage. To my understanding, only H&V includes a beverage with a Fantasmic package.

Thank you for helping me prove my point. I have decided that is definately the way to go. We probably won't drink any alcohol with this meal so I'm hoping to keep it around there. I think I would rather use my 2 credits at California Grill now! Thanks.
