does your work treat personal days differently than vac days?

I earn two personal days a year. I can carry one over to the next year, but can't ever have more than three available. We also have to have them approved; if it's deemed that what you want to do could be done at a different time, the request is denied. And it's use them or lose them.

Our vacation days are set on the calendar and are unpaid. I'm only paid for days I work, not vacation or holidays.

I have eight sick days I can use per year, but I have to be willing to produce verification that I was really sick. I actually had to do this one year. At the end of the year, somebody decided that I had taken "too many" days for my kids. I produced the proof that one day was for DS' MRI, one day for the EKG, etc. They were approved, but I wasn't too happy. If you think you might have a problem with absences, don't wait six months to complain.
