Does your pet do weird things?

My lab Jake's favorite toys are the plastic pots that shrubs and flowers come in. He runs around the back yard with a pot on his head and has occasionally bumped into stuff - I think he knows the layout of the yard well enough that he usually avoids the trees.

I have a yellow lab that is obsessed with blueberry muffins. She ate 8 of them once, got onto a platter up on a high counter. She also will bandit whole wheat biscuits that are in ziploc bags. She eats them bag and all, except for the actual zipping lock part.

Our dog Holly puts her whole face into her water bowl to drink. She looks like she is bobbing for apples, and she drips all over the place when she is finished.

Sasha (another dog) likes to sleep with her whole paw in her mouth. If she catches you looking she pulls it out and looks really sheepish. She's always "sucked her thumb" since she was a pup and we think it's cute. Anyone else have a paw sucking dog?

OK, I have never had pets of any sort with the exception of goldfish, and the strangest thing they did was to try to leap to freedom. But this thread has me totally lol (and a little wigged out, y'all DO have some weird pet habits, do I hear David Letterman calling??? )

Our hampster runs ON TOP of her running wheel, kinda like a stair machine.

Our aging golden retreiver, Boomer, likes to "rearrange" shoes at night. He goes into each bedroom bringing in one shoe then takes another and puts it somewhere else. Needless to say, in the morning we are running around..."have you seen my shoe?"

Oh, the ziplock story made me think of one. It is weird but even more ANNOYING!!!! If I leave any sort of bread, rolls, pasteries on the counter the cats will jump up on the countered and chew through the bag so the can take a sniff or a taste of it Of course they never actually eat the whole thing, but leave a big enough hole to make it go stale.

They also roll fruit off the counter. (They do both these at night so there is very little I can do to make then stop)

Patches, the blanket carrier also steals socks from the laundry. When she can't find one little girls panties will do. Once when MIL stopped by, there were some tinkerbell panties lying on the steps in the foyer

My cat is a food nibbler too, except he is very particular about what he nibbles. He opens the cubbard doors and if there are Stella D'oro biscuits in there he will pull the package out, pull a biscuit out of the package and nibble on it.

Wow, I loved reading all of your pet stories.

My cat Jack, who is the sweetest little thing ever, also tries to nurse.. except he does it on his own tail. We all think it's so cute but when we have people over to visit they always think it's really weird, LOL. He also loves hair elastics.. he thinks they have life of their own.

My dogs have a fascination with socks. They seek them out from wherever we've hidden them and tear them up. Also feminine hygiene products.

My cat Paws "talks". It's the most bizarre thing.. when he's eaten grass or something and doesn't feel well, he'll open his mouth and out will come these weird little phrases like "erby derby derb". It's scary and fascinating, LOL. The other day I walked up to him and said "Hey Paws, what's shakin'?" and he said "hi" - it was so funny.

I have three cats, also and I think the WEIRDEST thing they do is LOVE EACH OTHER!!

Every other time I had cats there was some issue! Not with these three.

Xena is the leader of the pack, she's the Momma and no one disputes her. Max is my sweetie boy, he is so affectionate and kind and kisses the girls all the time. He also gets up on his hind leg, puts one of his front paws on your leg and reaches up to your face for a kiss. He does this all the time! Aaliyah is my baby, and the others' baby, too. They're both possessive and protective of her, she's so shy and childlike, they just adore her!

I think if I went up in a puff of smoke they'd still do well as long as they have each other. My favorite thing is to see them take turns hugging up with me. No fights, no competition, they just take turns. God gave me three GREAT ones this time!
