Does your guide reply to Email?

We emailed a week ago with questions about an add on and have heard nothing. Have your guides returned in a timely manner?
 
My guide always replies in a timely manner, however, your guide may be away on vacation or assigned to a crusie and not have an autoresponder activated. I'd shoot them another e-mail and if you don't get a resonse, try telephoning. It could also be that your -email didn't make it all the way (spam filters and such).

My guide replies promptly, but always with a request for me to call him. I think they have specific rules about what can and can't be discussed in email..so...it would probably be a good idea for you to just call. My guide always calls me back quickly also.
 
Guides are not allowed to do anything official via e-mail. As a matter of fact, they discourage the guides from doing virtually any e-mail communications at all. I suspect your guide has called or will try to call you via the number listed in your records. Make sure it is correct and if it isn't, send them an e-mail with the correct number.
 

My guide always answers emails in a timely manner, and will discuss anything that I want to, including add-ons, via email. I think each one is different in how they do their jobs. Definitely after 1 week with no response, I would re-send the original email, with a note saying something like, "You must not have received this, since I didn't hear back from you, so I thought I'd better send it again"....that way, you sound like you're giving him the benefit of the doubt, that he didn't get the email, but it will give him a kick in the butt, if he did.
 
No. They're not supposed to repsond via email. But he will call me if I email him.
 
As PP, officially Disney doesn't want the Guides using email for legal reasons. If it's in writing, you have prof of what you were told.

Some break the rules and use it on a limited bases, others not at all.

Your best bet is to leave a VM or you can call (800) 800-9100 and find out if your Guide is scheduled to work.

Our guide has responded quickly by phone, in response to a detailed email with all our questions.
 
My guide alwasy responds to my emails. If it is a question that is more generic or something I need clarified (ie: if my add on had closed yet), he responds via email.

If it has anything to do with incentives, prices, etc, then I get a phone call. If I email him about a rumor that I heard on the net, he gives me a call.

I know what his days off are so I have an idea of how long it might be before he calls me. And last June, he went on vacation during my add on and let me know that he would be gone for a week, just in case I had a question and didn't hear back from him right way.
 
My guide does respond to me via email. We only recently bought into DVC and he was answering all my questions over email. He did make a note at teh bottom of one of the first messages saying **** NOTE: MRS. ____ is not available by phone during the day due to her job, so some discussion will be taking place over email because she has access to a computer. ****

I am sure that was to cover himself in case they monitored it. I did call the general number one time and asked for an email address for him and was told by the receptionist that they are not allowed to give out their email addresses.
