Does your dog hug you?

yes! My Marea jumps up, paws fully out - like a little kid saying, "Pick me up, pick me up!" It's so cute. She'll hop right up if someone goes to actually pick her up off the ground.

my doggie was the perfect height, that when she jumped up on me, her paws would sit on my hips. And she only ever jumped up on me to give me hugs. It was very cute.

I've had two dogs that would do that--a springer spaniel and a big ole malanois.

Our current dog, a golden retriever, is not a hug fan. She tolerates it when we hug her but when we finish, she'll immediately offer her paw. It's like she's saying, "Hey, now, let's not get carried away. We're JUST friends."

My German Shepherd does when I come home after working a long shift. She sits on my bed and when I go over to her, she puts her paws on my shoulders so we're the same height and then licks me to death.

Our neighbor's dog, female collie, does this to our male beagle. I just call her a dirty girl and leave her alone. We've now adopted the chihuahua and I'm babysitting a neighbor's daughter for a while until her regular babysitter gets back. I am clueless about girls, have three sons. Next door neighbor gave me a baby carriage for her to play with and I dug up some stuffed animals. The chihuahua now has her way with a small stuffed dog, a domo and snoopy. I've gotten better about picking them up and putting them up high so she cannot get to them anymore. *sigh*

My male mastiff loves to hug and be hugged. He leans his whole body into us and nuzzles our necks as he hugs us. Then he smiles.

My female shepherd has a unique way to hug. She 's big enough that when people squat down to pet her, her head is above shoulder level. She puts her head behind their heads and then uses her muzzle to "hug" people.

It's even cuter with kids who don't need to squat down to pet her. She is my social butterfly.

My brother in law had this happen to him. He thought that the dog really liked him.

My dog is not at all affectionate, so no hugs from her, but she will "kiss" like a human. She has never licked anyone's face, but if you say, "Tara, kiss-kiss," and pucker up, she'll touch her "lips" to yours.

Ah, yes. Nothing better than a hug from a precious dog My dog kind of curls her head around your neck. It melts my heart every time I come home and she's so excited and I pick her up and she gives me a hug .

My Missy used to, but she has arthritus now and it hurts to stand on her hind legs. She used to jump up and put her front legs around my waist when I got home from work every day (back when I still went to the office).

Dogs hump to show dominance, male and female. Well, the males have another reason, too A female dog who humps is just saying that she's higher up on the doggie social ladder than the other dog. I have a male and female, both altered, who hump each other. There's a power struggle in my house!
