Does your child have your personality?

DD is my only child. When she was little, she was very easy going and docile. She was a dream to parent. I was actually worried that she was going to be a follower in school and get into all kinds of trouble. Somewhere around the age of 10, my personality came shining through. She's a good kid but she's a lot like me. I called my mom to apologize.

My daughter is just like me. It's payback time for me!!!! She is stubborn, independent & likes to have the last word. When I complain to DH about those traits, he always says, "She doesn't remind you of anyone you know, does she?" DH says that he's leaving when she turns 16, that he won't play referee between us. She is 7.

Our oldest is just like DH- quiet, laid back, no need to rush for anything, detests physical work. DH understands him better than I do. DH always says, "Rita, I was the same way at his age."

Our middle child, son... Well, we're not sure who he takes after. He is really a mix of us; he is outgoing, assertive, will defend his siblings and family to the end. He is probably the easiest one to parent.

Our oldest is just like her father, laid back, easy going, sensitive, but an independent thinker. DD (2) is just like me, has an attitude, stubborn, has to be into everything, and hot tempered. The weird thing is when I was pregnant with each of them is when I had those traits too, like when I was pregnant with the oldest, I was even tempered, laid back, etc. I had an attitude, stubborn, etc when I was pregnant with the youngest. For the most part, I'm like the youngest.

1st DS - exactly like DH
2nd DS - exactly like me
3rd DS - 50% DH, 50% me

My DD has some of my personality traits, but she's far more hardheaded than I've ever been. I let things roll of my back and allow myself to be wrong sometimes. She holds a grudge and is ALWAYS right (even though most of the time she's wrong).

Not sure yet. LOL! But I can tell you that he pretty much doesn't have his father's. Actually, a lot of times he reminds me of my dad!

My middle DS is more like me and yes, when he was younger we butted heads more. Youngest DS is just like his Dad and he gets along with me better.

Both of my DDs have a few personality traits of me. Both are the type like me, that let problems pile up then explode. Oldest one is very personable like me while youngest is shy like DH. Even though DD24 is from first marriage and not DH's she procrastinates like my DH real bad. DD11 like me likes to get things done right away.

DD11 resembles me a lot. DD24 looks a little like me but mostly like her father.
